If anybody thought Benji's first appearance was just a courtesy cameo for the new kid, think again. He just got put in all tied up in extra time against the giants AC Milan. Ball was on his foot dribbling out the clock for a great result for Parma.
Great little cameo for him. 2-2 at home vs Milan. Plays out the last 5 minutes to hold on for a big draw. Played on left side of the MF. Kinda ran around like a chicken with head cut off.. excitable. Was dialed into his defensive positioning. Touched the ball 3 times I think. - standing on the touchline but LB plays it to him out of bounds. Not his fault. - scramble inside their own box and clears it but right to the Milan CB. Good job just getting rid of it but a tad more composure and he could have played it wider to give the bunkered defense a breather. - chases down a ball, holds off defender for a second while the whistle blew. Great experience for the kid.
Started, played '80, got a yellow card in a 2-1 loss. Didn't see it, but he got a positive review from US fans on reddit. Of course, it's US fans on Reddit, so....
I thought he was better in the first half than the second. He didn't get on the ball enough but he was engaged in the defensive side and in his duels. The second half was a little tougher for him, although he left with the score 1-1.
I saw a stat before half time. He had already ran over 4m. That's a lot of ground to cover. I'm going to think he was gassed by 70.
He covered alot of ground and that was basically it. Seemed to be mostly a passenger throughout the match tbh. He's going to have to show alot more if he's going to stay at this level.
Benjamín Cremaschi, who’s hoping to get more USMNT caps soon, explains the decision to leave hometown club Inter Miami and join Parma 🗣️“I felt like I needed this step. I needed to try and see if I have the level to play in a top league in Europe,” he said. “I felt like this was a good step. Their project is very young orientated. So I feel like this is a right spot. I feel like I’m learning a lot and growing here.” “For now, I can’t complain about a single thing. I just need to keep on working and get the minutes and opportunities that I want.” “The first thing I came to understand here is the speed of play. Obviously, it’s a little quicker and it’s a little more aggressive.” “So I just need to adapt myself to that a little bit more. And tactically, they try to focus on the defensive shape and offensive transitions.” “So I just need to get a better understanding of that and being aware of everything around me. And try to learn from other players as well.” “There is a lot to learn and I would like to say I’m a fast learner so I hope everything can come quick.” Cremaschi left his hometown club and an opportunity to keep playing with Lionel Messi behind to join Parma on loan this summer. So far, the 20-year-old has made three appearances. Parma currently sit 16th on the Serie A table.
Stuck on the bench for last four games. https://www.transfermarkt.us/benja-cremaschi/leistungsdaten/spieler/999127
The way this loan is shaping up, Parma isn't gonna buy him. Benja might have to go back to Miami, play more, get some minutes with the U.S. U-23 Olympic team (which starts play this fall), and then try it again. He's a decent player, but he's not gonna be a fit for every team.
Seems he had a decent match: Benjamin Cremaschi 🇺🇸really fought for it, but in his first start for loan club Parma, he is nominated for Serie A player of the match. Put in a 90 min shift as a right sided midfielder in the press. 👏🏾His future is almost certainly elsewhere, but promise remains. #USMNT pic.twitter.com/ijIdMnxrwb— Joshua 🇺🇸🇳🇬 (@joshua_reports) March 8, 2026
This wasn’t a game for anyone to look great. Parma set out to grind out a point several places behind them in the relegation battle. It was never going to be pretty, but the important thing was to stay compact and avoid mistakes. I think Cremaschi passed this test
A cleaner dirty shirt given MOTM (because he's a kid and it's his first start) to shame the veterans?

I hope he's got good people advising him and isn't even remotely considering putting off surgery to try intense physio in order to chase a World Cup roster spot. Paul Pogba threw away the end of his career to chase a World Cup roster spot, but Benji isn't even done physically growing yet...
This has got to be demoralizing, as it's on the heels of him starting to get starts at Parma. Gutted for him.
I believe he began starting because Parma got itself in a position where there was no threat or relegation and no chance of Europe. With Cremaschi there on loan they wanted to give him a run out to see if he was someone they wanted to keep. Not sure what happens now. Parma needs to make a decision on limited data. Maybe Miami takes a lower price. Internationally, Cremaschi's priority should be the Olympic team for LA2028.
