I was wondering, since I haven't seem them play in a looooong time (really long) how good they look now. I know for a fact they're not competing with Oporto for top place, right? Can anyone fill me in on their overall performance? Also, any moves they plan to make during this winter transfer window?

Benfica started off to a rough start. They lost to a lower division team in the first round of the Portuguese cup. After that game the coach was fired and they brought in the former Spain International coach and it seemed to bring them new life. They are in second and look good now but it seems like Porto is too far away from everyone and they will probably win the title (although my heart is blind and I still say Sporting will win it all). I doubt Simao would go to inter. He is carrying the team right now with Tiago. Nuno Gomes has been a dissapointment and Mantorras was injuered.

Benfica was talking with Barcelona in transferring Geovanni to Benfica, but it looks like that deal fell through. Being a Benfica fan, I still believe Benfica will win the Portuguese league. porto still has to play sporting twice, boavista once, and has to play at Benfica's place, so there's still a good chance.
