Benfica vs Nacional of Montevideu, inauguration date Oct 25
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I can't believe Benfica is inviting the Nacional of Montevideu of Uruguay to the inauguration of the new stadium, when they already had problems at previous inauguration on 1978, we deserve better, that's my opinion.
The main attraction to the game is the ex MLS Colorado Rapids Panamanian Dely Valdes, tell me this is a joke please.

They might as well have invited the Metros to their housewarming party. LOL

Sporting managed to get Man U, but that's probably because they were still in pre-season. An obvious candidate would be one of the big Brazilian clubs like Sao Paulo, Cruzeiro or Flamengo.

I have to agree any of the MLS teams would put a better show then Nacional of Uruguay, just remember what they did in 78, was enough not to invite this guys, in election year its a disgraced, we deserved a lot better.
If 3 of our players go down with a injury, LFV is done with this election.

I doubt this game will have any influence in the election, but I agree, an MLS team would be better than this team. I know they can't get any big European club because of the Champions League, but they should of tried to get a European club that isn't in the CL. (Maybe an English or Dutch club for example).

very sad with the brass at Benfica, for making this kind of decisions, just hope they don't try to bring back Nuno Gomes or Mantorras on this game.

    Benfica – «E a estátua do miúdo?» (Mário Coluna)

    ASF

The game will give on TVI, so I guess we won't be able to see it live in the U.S.A. unless they transmit it on one of the International channels. Hopefully RTPI transmits the game for International viewers!

I saw the game on Saturday, it gave on SPT. The stadium looks great!!! It's one of the better looking stadiums I've ever seen! The field looked like it held up good even though it was raining. The team benches are in dugout form and each seat looks like a racing car seat, it looks really cool. The best part of the new stadium is the atmosphere that it has, its loud and the fans are very close to the field, very intimadating. Benfica will have a huge home-field advantage at home now!

over 3 million dollar cachet for one game
