http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox_searchlight/benditlikebeckham/bilb_high.html A Hollywoodized version of the original trailer. Not a good sign. I hope the movie hasn't been altered.
As much as i think David Beckham is a muppet, the film wasn't that bad. i actually liked it a little bit.
Looks like a cart of bullshat to me. Bu then again, I don't like Beckham. If the good Captain says it's good though, I'll check it oout. Vive le AFC! OPArse
I've seen the movie already (whatever version was playing in India...I got the VCD from New Dehli) and I can't see what in the American trailer makes it any different from the version I've seen. The movie isn't really a soccer movie, it is more of a "culture clash" movie really. You could very well substitute basketball for soccer and the movie wouldn't change. I liked it much more from that perspective rather than the soccer perspective.
I thought the movie (Beckam) was fine. But I didn't expect much, and hopefully people approach it that way. I didn't buy the romance part of it. Given the choice between the gay looking coach and the soccer friend, I'd chose lesbianism every time. Well, of course I would.
The same trailer as posted earlier plus four exclusive movie clips and opening dates can be found at http://www2.foxsearchlight.com/benditlikebeckham/
Had the opportunity to see the movie last night. Good film. I'll buy this one when it's released on DVD. As with all movies there are things that are believable and unbelievable. It's worth the time.
It hasn't been changed in the film. The trailer was changed to attract a larger crowd without confusion. A good friend of mine went to the premiere last Sunday. I told him to look for words like "football" and "kit." He heard them all.
