What would a sequel given full Hollywood treatment look like? My ideas: "Eat it like Meola" -- Jess discovers the joys of the freshman dining hall and balloons up to 250 pounds. "Score it Like Mia" -- Jules realizes her life long dream and scores the winning goal for Santa Clara in an exhibition game against the Washington Freedom. Jules then falls in love with one of Mr. Hamm's teammates on the Red Sox. Fun cultural issues when Jules learns the real meaning of "squeeze play" (its a sacrifice bunt with someone on third people!) "Hack it like Hooper" -- Jess discovers the finer points of hacking opponents when the referee is not looking. "Cut it Like Mathis" -- Jules and Jess ask the hair stylist for "something different."
I was thinking of various ideas... Jess and Jules go to the US and play with Santa Clara and win the College Cup. Then they are drafted into the WUSA. They score 20 goals each for whatever team you want. They win the Founder's Cup with their Ajax-like style of play. They win converts to the game. Soon famous politicians are doing the honorary kickoffs at matches. George W. and Herr Schroeder reconcile while kicking the ball around in front of the Reichstag after Herr Schroeder stands up to the foolish Berlin city council. Soon ESPN becomes the Every Soccer Player's Network. Highlights are the first thing they show every night. First the WUSA and then the MLS. And then the rest of the world. Jess and Jules go to Hollywood and star in films that promote women's sports and female strength with Geena Davis as their bow-shooting mentor and Landon Donovan as the soccer star they both fall in love with. Jess' mom changes her mind about her daughter's love of soccer and becomes the host of not only a Indian cooking show on the Food Network but also a matchmaking show on TLC as well. Jules' mom becomes the host of a Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous type of show on E! called "The Truly, Madly, Deeply Rich". Jess' father starts up a professional cricket league which not only brings together the haves and have nots of American society but also brings together White, African, Pakistani and Indian Americans on teams throughout the land.
