Now that Nicaragua has already succeeded in getting to a Gold Cup...I'd like to see Belize do it now.
I don't think they stand a chance even if they make it to the 5th place game. That would mean either vs. Costa Rica, Honduras, or Guatemala. The only chance I see is them sneaking past El Salvador and Nicaragua in the group phase. Considering El Salvador's level of play in recent games (mostly for lacking a competent head coach) its possible but unlikely.
Just getting a first ever win at the tournament would be a massive achievement for Belize. Gold Cup qualification would be incredible!
Panama 2 Belize 0. The team battled well after conceding two goals in the opening half hour and had a couple of chances to pull a goal back. El Salvador next on Sunday.

2-1 at HT to El Salvador, penalty by Elroy Smith just before the whistle. Belize should be more behind but El Salvador haven't took their chances. Only needs a set piece or a bit of luck and Belize are back in this game. El Salvador 5 Belize 2. A disappointing margin of defeat for Belize but we were up against a very classy team - especially Burgos and Baires. Some promising signs going forward though, which bodes well for the Nicaragua game. Gold Cup dream still alive!

Belize were the better unfortunately their main problem was trying to put the long ball through which made it easier for the nicaragua to withstand....when they did played short pass and created opportunity they scored unfortunatley they did very few times and the times they did they didn;t captalsie i mean a few shots went harmless to the goalkeepers arms the highlight though was the prospect of daniel jimenez he really impressed with his speed and positioning

I was baffled how badly positioned the forwards were when a service came into the box. On about three ocassions, two men would try to go up for a header at the same time.
