a few wins doens't make us come back at Genk. The reason why we are getting back ( in small numbers) is that our long meetings with the club-board are paying off.
Welcome to Bigsoccer. Excellent. Give me more news. Tell me about the meetings, etc. Very interested.
In a few weeks the (most recent) reform of our pint-sized leagues will be discussed. The Pro League could shrink again ... possibly to 12 teams (Duchatelet/Ernst&Young's plan) ... including 2nd division, only 24 (professional) clubs would remain. Most likely +/- 4 clubs will keep struggling to comply with the very strict licensing regulations ... promotion from amateur football will be hard and this could result in a closed league (3rd division teams have declined promotion because they'd go bankrupt trying to comply). According to Sudpresse another proposal is gaining traction which could make promotion even harder ... i.e. 20 Pro League clubs and disbanding 2nd divsion (to be replaced with 2 regional amateur divisions).
Geez man, time to push for a BenNEL league. Saw something else that many of the Belgian 2nd division clubs are in trouble.
The Pro League will shrink again ... as expected 24 (pro) clubs remain but the competition format hasn't been finalised ... 10 clubs will have to move to the Amateurleague ... it will be rare to see a club promoting from amateur to pro league - sporza
That makes sense. The 2nd division is mostly semi-pro/amateur clubs, so that will be better for many of them. Team moving up will require outside investment, which is fine.
It's almost to the point where the leagues won't be able to compete. Saw that Burnley is now bigger than Ajax in terms of income which just hammers home the point. Ajax is a legendary European club and Burnley has done done nothing in the European landscape and if they get relegated very few people will care outside of Burnley fans.
££££££££££££ = biggest league in the world. Not the best, but the one that makes the most money. For the Lowlands to compete, they need to form a combined league. That would be most fun to watch. Have separate cups (plus a league cup), and a nice 18 team league. Heck screw UEFA/FIFA - 34 team league... two divisions.. playoffs the Duvel BENEL Super Cup .... Sell TV rights to the US/Asia/Middle East. (also the Dutch need to lower their foreign player minimum salary). Set up an appointment for me and I'll be over to set it up.
I think this is inevitable in the end. Also in terms of stiff competition it is better to have the best teams of both leagues together, as that will give more chance to harden players. Now they have about 12 matches in which they have to go to the bottom of what they are capable of. The combined league might push that to 20/24 matches. Good for our performance in Europe. Duvel BENEL Super Cup, I drink to that with a Duvel or 2

http://en.calcioefinanza.com/2017/0...w-strategic-advisor-suning-owner-inter-milan/ Chinese retail giant Suning looking to buy a Belgian club (and another in Portugal) ... they like the colours blue and black ... Brugge PS Leekens out of a job after only 2 and 1/2 months with Algeria ... maybe this time they'll go for Wilmots ... still would like to see him hold down a job at a club.
http://www.football-italia.net/97440/inter-get-satellite-clubs Belgian club Mouscron ... it's probably for the best
Good info. At first I thought you meant that Suning was buying Mouscron, but that does not appear to be the case. Do you think they will go for Club Brugge? If I had won a big Powerball, $500m or so before taxes, I would have bought a Belgian club a few years back
You had me second-guessing myself for a sec ... according to the article it is Mouscron that could be bought over by Suning ... yet Chelsea selling players to China might have been enough of a link for the journo to suggest this ... we'll find out sooner or later. PS the mention of Brugge only had to do with their club colours ... and those of Inter (= the reason why I've heard of Suning)
Did they have a good look on the Chinese soap opera at ADO Den Haag? They had to go to court to make the Chinese owner pay what he was due to.
