I talk to Nuno Santos a director of SCP and a friend of Al Coutinho, its a idea for the game on the week of Portuguese day at the same time Beira-Mar would take on Sport Club Portugues, the winner of the NJ champions league
A Claque do Beira-Mar and directors in Portugal they also aware of the idea in the works http://forum.beiramar.pt/viewtopic.php?t=53
I just got a email from Al Coutinho, the son and leader of the Coutinho foundation, the he always consider Beira-Mar because of there drawing power in Newark his considering either Beira-Mar or Academica beira mar was an option last season. in fact, they would have been cheaper than Boavista. We ending up picking Boavista because the guy I was working with in Portugal asked me to do him a favor. Furthermore, it was the last possible time, at least for awhile, that we could use phrase "last year's UEFA CUP SEMI-FINALIST". Beira Mar will always have a more natural audience, so I am considering them for this year. It will be either Biera-Mar or Academica. talk soon. al how have you been frank? haven't seen you in awhile. have a happy thanksgiving.
If Academica comes there maybe I will make a special trip. It would have to be a long weekend thing though
is trying to get one or the other, I know Academica was here in the late 80's early 90's, that's the last time I remember they were here Al did mention would be either one or the other,
just got another e mail from Al Coutinho they have some new "english" guys running the show and I'm not sure if they'll be reasonable. I'm going to portugal next weekend and hope to do something on this matter. al
I got a email from AL Coutinho in charge of Coutinho foundation that organized the last Boavista vs Beira-Mar Thanks for your effort. I have a meeting being set up with president of Beira-Mar for next sunday. I'll let you know how it goes when I get back. (i'll be gone only sat-tues)
