I emailed Direct TV to see if they were planning on adding BeIn sport USA in August and here was their response: So if you are a DTV customer make sure you call or email them to request the channel. That's their canned response. I asked about Disney Jr for my kids because the local TWC launched it. I was told we don't plan on launching it, less than a month later it's on the air, Still, I'd recommend people write in and ask. I had some technical issues the other day so I called in and when on the phone I asked that thy add it.
It's probably one of those situations where they say "no plans" just in case something goes wrong. The last thing they'd want is "Of course! We'll add it on 5/16 on channel 3921." If something goes wrong, there'd be a lot of complaining on 5/17. It's a case of DirecTV (and other providers) playing it 100% safe until it's 100% finalized, signed, sealed, and delivered. I don't blame them for doing so.
I recently heard of this, and wanted to know if Bein tv, has all rights to Serie A or will they be splitting them with Foxsoccer ? And what about La Liga ? I cannot find anything clear regarding this, there are so many articles and speculations, and unfortunately do not have the time to read everything. Hope someone can help. I am assuming Champions League will stay with Foxsoccer. Thanks to all
beIN SPORT LLC is keeping everything (La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1) to itself for beIN SPORT 1 USA, beIN SPORT Dos (en Espanol), and beINsport.tv (overflow events only, and only at an extra cost of around $20/month.) 100% exclusivity. No sublicensing. No time-buy publicity event to get el Clasico on October 6 to as many viewers as possible. Time will tell whether such as arrogant strategy will ultimately be successful or will be completely ignored by most MSOs (as American college football is king on Saturday October 6.) -- However, if beIN SPORT LLC wants to bid for U.S. video rights to the Barclays (English) Premier League (EPL) for August 2013-May 2016, beIN SPORT LLC MUST partner with another company based on what my industry sources are telling me what they have been told by FAPL boxx Richard Scudamore. I strongly suspect that beIN SPORT LLC has already made the decision to partner with ESPN, Inc., which means that ESPN, Inc. has decided to switch sides by backing beIN SPORT LLC instead of its current partner FOX Sports Media Group.
DirectTv's tier 1 negotiating team has been busy with the Viacom dispute.. my GUESS this is why BeIN broadcast launch has been delayed... this tells me the only real PROVIDER looking to launch BeIN is DirecTV. Cantona---
