I decided to start a new topic. When is the first league or competition they have? Ligue 1 starts on August 9. La Liga and the Turkish Super Lig start on August 16.

$80 mil a year for global rights to the entire league? That seems like a steal when you see Big 10 schools getting $50 mil a year per school

2024? Bein could fold in the states well before then.

    State of CT legal filling:

Frontier is currently in negotiations with beIN Sports regarding carriage of their networks and we will continue to negotiate in good faith. However, it is likely that we will not reach an agreement and that beIN Sports (channel 662/3120/1662/3320) and beIN Sports Espanol (channel 663/3119/1633/3319) will be discontinued on August 1, 2019 when the contract expires.

I don't think that'll happen. If you're a fan of La Liga, you wouldn't want them to move anywhere. Almost every match is on TV, the biggest games are always covered in depth, La Liga TV is on their streaming package. If it wasn't for distribution numbers, it would essentially be a match made in heaven for La Liga.

Seems like all these cable operators are operating as if La Liga will be gone next year so the channel is not worth fighting over

Ronaldo left, when Messi retires that won't be nothing worth watching.

Yeah, if it weren't for that pesky "they're only available on like 2 out of 20 cable providers" problem all would be well. Kind of important.

If you're willing to pay around $10/month for all of La liga than you are in a better spot than EPL and Bundisliga fans who have to pay for the TV channels and a streaming package to get everything

Those channels come on basic packages most people "have" to have anyways. You're only screwed if you are not a fan of a top 6 PL club or one of the big Bundesliga ones.

For EPL, yes. There are more games on "regular" TV than anyone could possibly have time for. But for Germany, being anything other than a Bayern fan would be pretty frustrating (I'd imagine).

Would estimate that 85+% of Dortmund games were on TV as well. Supporters of other clubs have to be super low. There are a LOT of German games over the course of a weekend. I get that this spot values every game being available, but I'd guess a super high group are more along the lines of me where you support a club in another league and want to be able to watch Bayern/RB Leipzig if the PL game is getting boring or Barca/Sevilla when the other leagues have finished.

It's funny to me to see the Spanish/French leagues getting frustrated after they tried for the MediaPro highest bidder cash grab and didn't think about how that'd ripple into the future. I liked what Serie A did, but that's as ESPN+ stays in a reasonable range. BeIN remains on annoying platforms. Sling sucks. fubo is a high entry point and doesn't have espn.

I found a website with the 2015-2016 schedule. They had 25 (73.5 percent) on Fox, FS1, or FS2; 7 (20.6 percent) on FS+, and 2 including the last matchday when all the games were at the same time) (5.9 percent) on Fox Soccer2Go (now MatchPass).

Barcelona's annual Joan Gamper Trophy match is tomorrow (Sunday) at 2pm ET.. This year's opponent is Arsenal. I have watched it in past years, but I am not sure if it was beIN who showed it. In any event, it I nowhere to be found for US viewers this year.

My German team is Schalke, which is a fairly big club in Germany, and I got to watch about one match in three probably.

I am a Comcast sub and I miss BeIn and La Liga. But not enough to also pay for Fubo on top of my cable bill and ESPN+.

You could cut the cord, save a ton of money, and get more than what comcast offers. Bein is back on playstation vue. Ditching comcast was one of the best things I did.

You don't have to pay for Fubo to get BeIN, I got Sling's World Sport Package for a year at $50 with all the BeIN channels including connect with a 5-6 day on-demand window as well (or I could tack on DVR at $5/month). Not sure if that deal is still available, but you can still get it a lot cheaper than having to take a $35-40/month Fubo subscription.

It's a shame that Fubo has dropped its cheaper packages. I remember signing up when they started it for like $6.99 per month. They've upped me to $9.99 but I'm still grandfathered in on a package that gives me the BeINs, GolTV and TyC, and the Univision channels. If you're only interested in adding the BeINs, Sling is great, with the added advantage that you can access BeIN connect channels through the sling apps/website. (I also have Sling so that I can record BeIN connect games, which I can't do on my old Fubo package.) I dumped DirecTV. Once indispensable to football fans, DirecTV now has no advantage over Comcast. (Yes, DTV has TyC and Gol but in unwatchable SD, and I get them in HD on Fubo and Fanatiz.)

I didn't realize this was an option. Googling found a landing page where you can get Sling World Sport for $10/month or $60/yr with a 7 day free trial. I'll give the trial a go when La Liga returns. I'll probably stick with occasionally peeking at the free English-language Real Madrid TV stream.
