One other thing to add to the just facts only approach, which hopefully will stay the course: I don't know what DirecTV charges for DirecTV Mas but En Espanol is akin to the Sports Pack--you get most (all?) Spanish channels for $14 or $15 per month. It looks like BEIN (Spanish) is included in that package.
I see the schedule for beIN's English-language channel on the beIN home page, but where can I find the schedule for the Spanish-language channel? Thanks!
The two channels are running identical programming for now with the exception of the studio shows. (Think FOX Sports World & FOX Sports World Español era circa 1999.) Both Terri Leigh (beIN SPORT HD) and Carmen Boquin (beIN SPORT en Español) have arrived in Miami for the big launch weekend La Liga tripleheaders on Saturdays and Sundays.
I am "getting" both channels 409 and 871 on Dish Network "as" beIn Sport. Is there a difference between both--besides the #? I have tried changing the language preference but I still hear both in English. Also, what package/s are needed on Dish to be able to see these channels?

When is Dish going to pick up the HD feed? The signal on 408 is downgraded to SD despite the logo saying beIN SPORT HD.
Ok so I am able to see channel 871 bein en Espniol, so far so good. Too bad Dish is only bringing channels in SD. Same issue with both Univision Deportes one and dos. ON the best games, I guess I will be heading to my local pub
On both Dish and DirecTV now, we can actually see programming on beIn, as opposed to "beIn Sports" 4-hour blocks with no further info. That being said, I get the same channel twice on Dish: 408 and 871 show the exact same thing.
They have the rights to them: http://www.beinsport.tv/leagues.html So, they'll do their best to show them all live (or delayed as necessary), one would assume.
another water break (in the 68th min) of the Lille/Nancy match. it's strange, but it is actually quite smart in hot/humid conditions.

Now, we're finally getting a programming guide on both beIN channels on Dish (408 and 871) and both channels theoretically should be showing something different. 408 should be showing La Liga's Sevilla vs. Getafe, whereas 871 should just be showing "soccer "(10-12). Both channels are, however, showing the same thing (the Seville-Getafe game). The channel also got the Marseille vs. Sochaux start time wrong: it was supposed to be shown @ 8 but the game doesn't actually physically kick off until 11 (I really wanna watch it so I am just hoping/guessing that this is just an issue with their programming crew). That being said, I am willing to give them a pass with these programming/scheduling nightmare for the first month or so and I personally chalk it all up to the fact that this is a new channel and a few kinks need to be ironed still. That's just me, though.
In practice, Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks negotiate as a single MSO. That combo has slightly more video subscribers compared to DISH.
This is for the old timers here, how long did it take for GolTV/FSC to be on the MAJOR cable providers when they first got started? Different era and all but I wasn't able to watch this weekend's LaLiga games at home so I'm wondering how long my wait will be. I guess we will see next weekend if there is any improvement over FSC for Serie A but I have to say beIN has been a definite upgrade over GolTV for LaLiga. However, the cable coverage situation really sucks

After having DirecTV and then Dish I moved to a new city and into an apartment. I was under the false impression that I could not have a satellite here. This was conveyed to me via the management company, but then I found a URL for an FCC ruling that said tenants can have satellite dishes--they can't be forced into one TV option or something like that (which is hilarious since cities give exclusive rights to cable companies). Anyway, prior to finding out about this I had Comcast and thus had downgraded my soccer options since they only had FSC. This was in 2005. Comcast continued to add music video channel after music video channel instead of Gol and told me that they might add Gol down the road when they upgraded their system. I finally got a long-term Comcast employee who told me that was a big lie because my area had previously been owned by Liberty and they had put in excellent cable with plenty of bandwidth. I learned this around the same time as finding out about the FCC stuff (just after WC 2006) and went back to DirecTV. So, the short version: Comcast in Chicago did not have Gol in 2006 which was at least a couple years after the network launched. They certainly didn't have Setanta. Cable companies suck. Switch to DirecTV. If you live in an apartment and your landlord says you can't have a satellite, show him or her the following link. Do as I did, tell them you can either have the dish installed on the roof, where nobody will see it, or you can have it installed on the side of the building where the beautiful aesthetics of the building will be ruined: http://www.fcc.gov/guides/over-air-reception-devices-rule Oh, and if you have cable because there are too many trees in your area that block the satellite signal. Cut those things down. If you live in an area with so many trees, cutting a few down won't make a difference. Plus you will be much happier with DirecTV's soccer options than you will be with those trees.
Phil Schoen told viewers on today's Real Madrid-Valencia match that he apologizes that "you" (the satellite customers) probably have so many people on your couch to watch the game, but hopefully the situation will change in the next week of so. Obviously, beIN is actively seeking more providers, but we will see how effective they are.
Have always had Dish and I remember first getting GolTV on it in mid-2003 maybe? The channel had only been recently launched then. I know that's not cable but hopefully it helps.
