beIN English coming to Bay Area (at least Richmond CA). My new bill says: Effective 1/15/2013, beIN Sports - English, channel 429, will be added to the Sports Entertainment Tier. Effective 1/15/2013, GOL TV, on channel 618 will be removed from the Sports Entertainment Tier and the MultiLatino Tier. (No mention of beIN Spanish)
So I moved into a new house, my old place (with roomates) had the one directv package with basically everything. Now that it's me and just the GF splitting the bill... I've actually had to do research to see what soccer channels go with what package! So pissed I have to have the directv latino package to get Fox Deportes and I think ESPN Deportes... instead of that being included on the sports package. What a crock of shit. FSC is there and BeIN sports.....but I have to get another package to see those 2 channels? Pisses me off...
Yep. You're right sadly, the directv guy told me the same... but then redbullsnation had me think twice...but I think he's just wrong and you're right.
If you get a base Spanish package then you will get FSC HD and ESPN Deportes, Bein Espanol, Fox Deportes, Gol TV. I had to add Sports Pack just to get Bein HD. The shittier thing is that NBC Sports is only available to people with a base Spanish package on the highest channel tier, Lo Maximo. I'm hoping Directv will do a reshuffle of channels on Spanish packages next season when EPL moves to NBC sports, although I'm sure those games will be available in Spanish on Telemundo, alas not in HD
NBC sports is available on the sports pack, right? And I WOULD get the base spanish package... but my GF would kill me as I think she lost some channels. LOL
Actually, I think NBC Sports has dropped out of the sports pack and is available on all packages from Choice Extra on up.
The NBC execs must be talking to every Prem owner into making a bid for a Latin player, with those closer to the US border having huge dollar signs attached. Roger Espinoza down. Maza and Hector Moreno still to go. Maybe someone might even bite on Rafa Marquez too.
GolTV was dropped for BeIn Sport on Comcast in the DC area as of today. Can't say I'd watched it recently other than a few low quality SD minutes of some Bundesliga games, but I can do without those.
NBC sports is off sports pack and is available on most English packages. Its only available on the top package in Spanish though. And there is no teldmundo ota availability here in Pittsburgh. Is telemundo available ota in most of the country?
Are y ou asking if Telemundo HD is offered on the 'local' hd channels? On directv it isn't for me in the washington DC area.
You should be able to receive it with an OTA antenna in the Washington DC area on 25.1. (Although, it is a low power broadcaster at this point, and the signal might not reach your specific location -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WZDC-CD. And since it is a low-power local broadcaster, that is also likely why it is not required within the local channels package of cable/satellite providers to DC area pay-tv subscribers.)
Don't know if it reaches "most of the country" via OTA broadcast, but wikipedia indicates: "Telemundo reaches 58 percent of Hispanic and Latino American households in 142 markets via over-the-air, cable, and satellite television" (take that for what it is worth, as it looks to be sourced from 5-6 years ago.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Telemundo_affiliates http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telemundo
Sounds like a personal problem. Maybe you should make the investment and switch providers to get it in HD.
