Having seen how many responses the LA game has generated I find that it makes me irritable to have to sift through the plorp posted by people using that particular post as a chat room. I really enjoyed having two seperate posts, one for the pre-game and one for the post match reports. Am I the only one that liked this style or has my having stopped drinking clouded my judgment?
I agree! Change it back! Especially after this game, having been away on the road trip! I want to read the post game talk now that I'm home. But I just don't want to sift through that thread. It's kinda frustrating actually. Cuz I would have liked to read the post game stuff, but I probably just won't now.
Back to the way it was before. It worked much better that way. It takes a lot more to sort out what's going on.
Anybody else? Otherwise, they have asked and shall receive, starting with Wednesday's Quakes/CA match. Agreed about the chat room effect, which is even worse than the reasons we consolidated the game threads in the first place (often, the same exact comments/conversations were happening in two or three threads, so it seemed logical to consolidate). This puts the responsibility back on the entire forum community, as mods will often not be the ones starting these threads. Remember the [R]s for ingame and postgame threads, blah, blah, blah.
Good point. This was another reason consolidation made sense. Everyone could just assume the the one game thread with the one [R] would have a result, period. But, the abundance of chat-type stuff ruins it and it sucks to have to sift through 10 pages of stuff to find your conversation. For road games, it will be easy for me or another mod to lock the pregame thread at game time, to prevent anyone posting results there. For home games, this may be trickier; I'll probably just close the pregame threads on home game days right before I leave for the tailgate.
Before, during and after is much better. BM, I will try to get you the head of Gus St. Silva. Would you like an Itaya head to go with it? Sort of a matched set?
Or a Gus St. Silva or Brian Hall bobblehead doll... Those would be worthy of sticking firecrackers and blowing the bobbles up to bits. BOOM!
