Beer!

Once again, I'm going to vote for local California breweries, some of the best in the world. I really liked some of the stuff you had last year.

I recommend the following:

Anything from Bison
Anything from Anderson Valley
Anything from Moylan's
Anything from North Coast (but especially Rasputin!)

Last year, there was something called Butterfield's, and I thought those were pretty good.

Themed nights would be pretty cool.

 

I agree. Promote the local brews in case those Danes and Dutchmen come over here. Prices should be reduced, as Beerking suggests, I'm getting tired of carrying that keg under my shirt when I go through the gate.

 

I'm also in favor of supporting the local breweries. I'll even be a bigger homer and vote for Moylan's here in Novato. They have some really great stuff--especially their Indian Pale Ale (if you like 'em light) and the Kiltlifter (if you want to get all ugly in the face.)

Great recommendations statewide, everyone. Count me on the bandwagon!

 

In the past I've always gone for either Harp or Guinness - depending on my mood and the amount of sun hitting me in the face (more sun = Harp; less = Guinness).

So I never paid attention to the other stuff, and now I have a question: do we have Anchor Steam on tap?

I could go for some Anchor Steam...

 

I would like to see Spartan1 make a move to get all of the local brews on tap. The only way to drink 'em.

 

Fuller's ESB on tap.

Pintail Ale on tap.

Local: Anchor Liberty Ale.

And another vote for Anderson Valley Brewing, especially Boontling (their amber).

As long as there is Bass and Guinness on tap I will be happy.

 

Other than the price$, I'm content with the selection Spartan1 implemented for last season. We pretty much drank Prohibition Ale from SF at every game. But they often sold out of it, it was like there were only 12 or so bottles at each game. So perhaps a draft of that, or just in general more local beers on tap (like previously suggested). Otherwise, good job so far.

One thing I would like to see is better communication between the team and Spartan facilities. Since we usually only have around 10K fans in the stands, the number of concessions and bathrooms is acceptable. But whenever we have a game like that LA one when 26K show up, all of a sudden the lines for everything are unbearable (MORE beer stands!!!!!!).

 

All this beer talk is thirsty work ,wonder if my fridge is fully stocked.My favourite drink is a "Bitter" brewed in the uk called "Bishops Finger",not sure about the name origin.Makes you wonder what else the bishop used for brewing!!!Maybe i,ll stick with my miller lite....Cheers

 

Oh boy....here we go again.

Great choices for tap beer....and as far as Samuel Smiths, we did stock Sam Smiths Oatmeal Stout & Imperial Stout last season. Unfortunately they moved very slow so, as of now, they are not slated to return to the lineup.

We will be adding more selections from California breweries this year. I have looked at Bison and we should add at least the Chocolate Stout to the lineup.

From Anderson Valley we served Boont Amber & the Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout. Both sold reasonably well for the first half of the season then dropped off towards the end. If there is enough interest we will continue to stock these and perhaps add Hop Ottin IPA.

Moylans we are looking at...the Kilt Lifter Scotch Ale seems interesting.

And....North Coast we are looking to add.

Yes, we do have Anchor Steam on tap....however only in a couple locations. It will definitely be back for the upcoming season!

Although it would be a nice thing to have all the local breweries on tap it, unfortunately, does not work well with our storage and pouring capabilities. We will be adding more items on tap this season however we are not able to offer as broad a selection as we do in the bottled beers.

 

i'm also curious about the japanese food, I liked the chicken skewers, and I love Kirin beer so I hope that stays, otherwise i'm drinking Harp.

Prohibition Ale from Speakeasy did well for some of the games last season. I will look into the question of stocking however....I know we always had more than 2 cases in stock for every game (to insure freshness we order often and in low quantities). This, very well, might be one beer that will be added to our "on tap" selection.

And, yes, we should be adding more beer stands this season.

The japanese food grew in popularity every game....it will definitely return. The Kirin will also return! (Harp too)

 

The sushi sales went well.....it will definitely return.

There are a number of new food items we are looking at for this upcoming season....I'll keep you posted.

Spartan 1 - I don't think you have to increase the number of stands for all games, but definitely for the high attendance games as suggested by his lordship, Blue Meanie. I would also like real Japanese food: Natto!! In any of its forms--natto-maki, natto-raisu. Yowzah!!

 

Blue Meanie definitely has it right....as do you. For most of the games last year I believe we had a reasonable number of stands. Prior to the beginning of the season we will look into adding more satellite stands as is necessary when attendance reaches certain levels.
