I think they charged all his Burger King tabs to his transfer value.

Should be a better position for him than left wing at this stage of his career. Doesn’t have the pace to run on transition, but hopefully still has the technical acumen to link up in the box

Seems like Ancelotti has had enough. Benching him hasn’t worked. The new plan is to send Hazard out to get bummed by central defenders all season, as just punishment for him screwing us since he signed.

At least The Dream will be able to put his feet up for a well deserved rest in some matches.

Yeah happy to see physically, he seems improved.

now we gotto see if mentally he can recover or if he will be the scared timid player we’ve gotten over the past 3 seasons

I’m also skeptical about the false 9 thing. If he has fully gotten over the mental hurdle of being fearful of contact then maybe it could work but Karim has to be on the pitch playing the actual 9 + 10 to actually make it work which kinda defeats the purpose.

I don’t know. I don’t really have a solution. At this point let’s throw him out there the first part of the season and see what he has left.

If Eden is to be used as a false 9, that leaves us kind of thin in the wings. If Asensio stays, thats VJ and Rodrygo with one sub. Maybe 4-4-2 with Fede on the right will be used much more next year.

I wouldn't be having Eden anywhere near the pitch unless we absolutely need him, no change of formation just to accommodate him either, get fit and be ready to play if needed but generally, relax on the bench

He can eat up some minutes as a sub for Vini and Rodrygo.

He can diet, but the main issue is contact.

Didn't Ancelotti try Isco once as a false 9 or was it someone else (Benitez?). Didn't work because these players don't have striker instincts when it comes to movement. This is something you don't develop at a late point of your career.

Even if he had this instinct I don't think Hazard can play there, he needs the space on the wing and hes too weak to fight with central defenders.

I would be happy with 25+ games from him. Don't care about goals and assist stats. When he plays, he makes the team better. When the team plays well someone will score, it doesn't really matter who.

There is more fluidity in attack and generally more chances are created when he plays. He draws a lot of attention and when that happens, he is creative enough to unsettle the defensive structure and create openings.

Its similar to how people thought Benzema was contributing nothing when he wasn't a prolific scorer a few years back.

Granted, if you play ten games per season, obviously any talk of contribution is pointless.

Seriously? i always was huge Hazard fan, i'mt still is. But he contibuted nothing .. it's 100 percent case when on paper in statistics numbers everything are good, but if you are watcing matches it's opposite.
