Well, another transfer that has nothing to do with making the team better. He will a little. The team needs work on defense. Makelele can do just so much. At least with Barca, he could be in the process of rebuilding a great team that will get a considerably better if they get Chivu and now that they got Rustu. And of course, that has everything to do with the play on the field. Good grief, no wonder Ajax can't win it all. They can't keep their players. Best youth system in the galaxy(Krypton's players are stronger and faster at a younger age) and the players leave quickly and later come back in their 30s. They lose their coaches as well. What they should have gotten were some more younger and cheaper players like Riquelme or some other Argentine players instead of paying all of this money for this guy.
Nothing against Beckham, but I think this will hurt Real on the field. (not commercially, of course) It's just too crowded a midfield. Part of me thinks they went for Becks just to embarrass Barca. If so, they succeeded. I mean, if you think Gaspart was a hated man in Catalonia, you ain't seen nothing yet. They're gonna be all over Laporta no matter who he brings in now. If Real gets Ronaldinho, that's just ridiculous. And I'll be pissed. I want to see him at Old Trafford so bad, and if we miss out on him, I think this offseason will be a disappointment. Becks just wants to go to Madrid so he can make SAF pay for getting rid of him. I can't blame the guy for wanting his shot at revenge. Although I too think it was time to sell Beckham, SAF could have handled the whole situation a little smoother. Figo? No thanks. He's got bags of skill and talent, but no heart.
