Yeah I know what Beckham's buyout clause is. I also know that Roman exceeding the buyout clause is just as likely as Roman meeting Beckham's buyout clause. It ain't gonna happen. Roman has a lot of money and he didn't acquire by overpaying. Should he offer half of what you quoted I am sure Madrid would accept.

The focal point of your original post was the astronomical sum that you claim will be offered for Beckham. Since it is obvious how out of whack that is, you my friend are an idiot.

no really...theres no reason to be mean on boards but you are being idiotic, or i shall say absurd to make it nicer. roman could go buy some good clubs in financial trouble (like parma or w/e) for close to that much money im sure. Real just want to make a profit off of Becks. anything over 60m pounds would be outrageous and unlikely. Real only paid what, 25m for him? 40 sounds right to me to buy him.

£40million would yield Real Madrid a nice return on their investment, however I believe they want to hold onto Beckham at least 2 more years. His celebrity factored with Man Utd's growing troubles and Real Madrid's excellence could brand Real Madrid as the world's most popular club. Victoria may have other plans though, as it is coming out that the Beckhams as a family are having a hard time settling with the transfer to Spain. Should David want to leave because of this, £40million would be an acceptable price from Real's point of view.

My friend told me this morning.... I do not know it is true or not.

    1) Beckham decided not to resign the lease to his mansion for next year.

    2) His son has withdrawn from his school for next year.

    3) he fired his interpreter.

    --------

This is from my opinion. Beckham is not playing well. His freekick has been off target since X'mas.

I wouldn't be sad to see him go. he didn't add anything to the team. if anything, he weakened the midfield. I think even perez feels that he made a mistake and may try to repair the damage for next season.

I agreed. Beckham has been useless since the X'mas break. In fact, I ranked him very low in importance for the team. I used to think Beckham is the most unrated player in the world because every real soccer fans think he is just a pretty boy.... he was, in fact, the best free kick specialist in the world.... he made the best cross in the world. That is enough to make him the top 10 player in the world. After this season, he is not even on my top 10 player on the RM team.

Solari is a much better player.... sometimes even Guti plays better. Solari for certain got better dribbling, better short pass and tackling skills. I feel more comfortable if he does not start.

I think you give Perez more credit than I do. He seems to be pretty confident in his decisions, even when it seems none of us think they make sense.

I cannot agree more. I wish Solari started more matches. He's really underrated and to me he is a much better player than Beckham.

Guti has played well the last month and a half but before that Beckham was definitely better.

He'll be gone. Roman's a ********ing nut with his money. You also have to figure how much of beckham's initial transfer fee will be made back in merchandising. Real will be fine though. If I was Perez, I'd be focused on beefing up the defense. Phillipe Mexes and Roberto Ayala would make nice additions. Personally, I'd rather see Mexes go to Juve, but I'll admit, he'd be ideal for the Bernebeau..

Chelsea will pay alot for him though, being the English super star and all. You just know they'll do anything to throw that at man utd's face. I say we put the price tag at double what we got him for, so around 50 million. Then use the money to get totti and a good defender.

This is the kind of crap that is so prevalent on Yanks Abroad or USMNT N&A.

Roman's Cash + English Tabloid Media Rumour + Sub-Century Mark IQ = Beckham To Chelsea

I'm tempted to lock this stupid thread until somebody can provide a link to back up this fantasy.

im gonna start off by saying that soccer is a business as well as a sport, but this Beckham transfer nonsense is pure hogwash. first off, hes a merchandising equivalent of an ATM machine, the money just keeps coming. Florentino would be dumb to trade away his most valuable off-the field piece in order to get a better player. since when has he been all about the better player or the need of the team anyway?? second off, the kid just got here, would make no sense for him to leave Man U where he is adored, play one year in Spain and then return to Chelsea....dont think hed make many friends doing that, what with Becks being the image concious player he is, he wants to be loved by everyone. and "c", its not gonna happen, so just quit imagining things now so you wont be disappointed in the summer....Becks will be here until his contract runs out in 4 years.

The problem is that Beckham is playing CM, where his crosses are not utilized as well as the fact that he's not really a creative player, which gets exposed in the middle.

Real should sell Figo, add a true CM, and move Beckham back to the right.

I doubt beckham will want to go back to the EPL to a low club like Chelsea (even though they now have a lot of good players, i dont think they have any players as world class as beckham). A move from Real Madrid to Chelsea would make me feel bad.haha

No offense to any Chelsea fans...

As I understand it, from a recent interview with him on all matters listed above,
1.He did not resign the lease because he plans to buy a home.
2.His son (Brooklyn) never even started at the school in Madrid. He was and is still attending the school in Britain where Victoria spends most of her time still, trying to get a career going.
    3.He never had an interpreter.

As for him taking a step down to play for Chelsea, I'm not so sure he would see it that way. It's clear Victoria has always wanted him to play in London and Chelsea would be an obvious choice as they have the money to bring him. I don't know if it's going to happen, but it's not far fetched at all.
