Here's an interview Beckham did this morning with Ryan Seacrest. On it, he talks about how the doctors told him he would be out 8-10 weeks, but that he hoped for 4-6 weeks instead. Here's the link.... http://ryan.kiisfm.com/cc-common/losangeles/podcast/onair.html
Thanks for the summary, now I don't have to listen to Seacrest. So basically no hope of even getting those last 3 games of the season. The Vancouver game will be postponed. When is the Australia exhibition match?
I'm stilll going to wear my Beckham jersey. I want him to know we are loyal to him! In another thread, someone mentioned he can finally get the healing he needs and not feel guilty. No matter what, it's too late to help the Galaxy this season. So, rest up Beck's and we will be waiting for you with our kits on!
Not that there was a chance of this happening, but imagine the bad publicity if the Galaxy had made it to the MLS Cup but Beckham didn't play because of his international duties. There is no way MLS can continue to ignore the FIFA calendar with big name international players who still play for their countries, like Beckham and Blanco, in the league.
Going further down, I also spotted a Jesse Marsch interview. Surprised to see how supportive a mainstream radio station that is not sports/soccer oriented can be towards major MLS marquees. I say keep it up-more fans the better. I'm listening to the interview right now, and I can't help but think just how polite Beckham is-I definitely hope him being here has a positive influence on the rest of the Galaxy-both on and off the pitch.
Thought it was interesting when asked about Yallop that DB says he's "a great person...and a good coach". Would the team be better if he were a slightly less than great person and a slightly better than good coach?
He actually said good "manager", so in MY mind, he's saying he won't be the coach much longer! S____T____R____E_____T____C_____H?????
Yeah, its a stretch. Manager = coach/GM in the UK and other parts of the world. Beckham is just speaking "English" not "American."
Exactly, but this might also be loosely related to the lack of scheduling control. 7 out of 13 teams as primary tenants is great, but it also means 5 other places still don't control their own venues. MLS probably chose November 18 because of the possibility of a lengthy World Series taking place at R... (better safe than sorry).
