Not sure where to put this thread, not sure if it's been posted already, but The Best Damn Sports Show is showing an interview with Beckham tonight: http://www.foxsportsworld.com/content/view?contentId=1729298
Blech Disappointing. Started with a canned segment promoting his new biography (published by HarperCollins a division of the News Corp). Beckham talking. A few shots of him playing and being a celeb with the Mrs. Audience members all brandished copies of the book. Then segue to the movie "Bend it Like Beckham" (distributed by Fox Searchlight a division of the News Corp) and a short segment was then shown. Audience members again shown brandishing product. By the way, did I mention that the show airs on Fox Sportsnet (a division of the News Corp).
You mean he didn't even get to say that he'd like to play in the US one day so we can get started on a whole new batch of "Beckham to play for (insert MLS team here)."?
He did say he'd like to live here for a few years. I think what he meant by that is " Foxboro, Massachusetts is a lovely place and I'd love to play for the Revolution someday".
No, what he meant to say was "I'm going to Hollywood to be in movies. Andrew Shue and I are going to play for the Galaxy."
New England?........LA?....... Too bad. I was hoping he'd go to New York. Can you imagine him on the same field with George Weah?
He's planning on moving to LA, play for the Galaxy, gain his citizenship, and run for Governor one day. Posh and Becks go to Sacramento.
Old joke, but for those who have not heard it: Why does David Beckham have T.G.I.F. printed on his boots? Toes Go In First
Brutally. Be glad you missed it. It was worse than anything Jim Rome has ever said. And he was very, very convincing, too. I doubt the sport will be able to survive.
