Kyle Beckerman with a sprained left foot suffered in training yesterday has knocked the Real Salt Lake midfielder out of US camp and back to Utah for rehab. Because of the rain on fields they had to play on turf when the injury occurred. Another bad mark for turf!

Very bad news. Ankle injuries obviously are never career threatening, in most cases they only keep you off the field 2-6 weeks. But most sprained ankles never fully heal, especially for a professional athlete who can't afford to spend a year rehabbing it. The ankle becomes weaker and highly susceptible to re-injury. More than likely, Kyle will sprain it again once or twice more during the season.

It is not an ankle injury.! it is the side of his foot. Recovery time is 1to 3 weeks
