Yes, they were to be released from service and with the spoils promised them. However is was with total emotional rejection by Caesar. Now focus on the word "citizen" here , as opposed to "brothers or patriots" in this quotation, this is what really gut punched the tenth legion hard. Upon hearing that the soldiers cried and begged to be taken back into the service. Caesar had reduced them to nothing more than mere citizens , and gone was their total shared history as brothers in arms. I think I also would have cried begging to be taken back into the service. In the civil war that ensued, it was said they fought more ferociously and tactfully than any other.

Listen I haven’t celebrated a birthday since I was 25. i wanted to have some people over sent out the date and time over a month ago so people could either figure out the time or say they aren’t going to come. There is a set time you don’t say the day before that you are going to be over 2 hours late.
