Here we go. This right here, boys. Dutch people peacefully protest a migrant hotel full of fighting aged males and they are beaten by police. Absolutely disgusting.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I don’t trust the republicans but I trust the democrats 100 times less.

Well. I mentioned this before that I believe there will be some incidents at matches involving Iran at the World Cup. Not with the team, but I believe the clashes will be between pro regime and anti regime. 99% of the folks will primarily be there for football, of course, but there will be some that will mix in politics. Yesterday north of Toronto there was a clash between pro regime and anti regime groups. A pro regime guy drove his car into a group of anti regime protesters -- sickening. Iranian versus iranian crime.

I am shamelessly calling for Italy to replace Iran at the World Cup -- a coping mechanism. So what?

Gomes you find some disturbing things on the web. That shopping cart thing had me tripping out.
I even told my elderly mother who has heart failure about it. God forbid they ever tried.

    Duck hunting it is!!

You could just support Brazil and Canada.

That "doctor" might have a point, but I don't agree with the way he said it. "Limbic" capitalism? "White women"? Has this guy never seen Naomi Campbell? The real issue is because of our freedoms, many of us seek baser pleasures over higher meaning to our lives. I think all of us are guilty of it to different extents. I think this is more to the point of what he's getting at.

But reimaging capitalism or adopting more conservative lifestyles (that did serve well in the past) is not practical to me.

Society is heading towards great change, whether we want it or not. The industrial revolution ended slavery. Today we are on the verge of a robotics/AI revolution that might make tedious, boring jobs a thing of the past. The average person will be able to live more leisurely, freely. The could make the problem he's describing worse.

However, the way I see it, we are potentially entering a new Renaissance, a new age of Enlightenment. Just like how the New World was discovered, the Americas, soon we will explore and colonize space, reach literal new worlds like Mars. In some ways, we might be breaking away from our baser selves and towards a new kind of human experience, one almost beyond the meaning humanity.

However, we could just as easily be entering a new Dark Age. Will these same technologies be used to oppress us? We already see the shape of a totalitarian system with the emerging cashless society, digital identifications, biometrics, and mass surveillance. Are we moving to something almost unhuman? Will "Singularity" do away with all or most of humanity at some stage? Basically, everything Alex Jones has been warning about. He gets labelled a crackpot, and sometimes he is (just like me or anyone else really, we all say stupid shit), but IMO he's one of the most important voices of our generation. I wish more people talked about this stuff in the mainstream. It's the most important topic today.

Yeah, that pissed me off. I thought that guy handled it perfectly. Even still they got lippy. Ever hear of this Ethiopian-American shock streamer who goes by the name of "Johnny Somali". He made a real mess harassing Japanese and South Koreans and the Koreans taught him a ********ing lesson then threw him in jail. The shit he was doing was infuriating to watch. I was losing my shit just watching it online, LMAO. This Korean ex-military guy caught up to him. Apparently this Johnny Somali is still in jail.

Frankly, more needs to be done to prevent them from crossing and seeking asylum in Europe. No reason they can't find safety in neighboring countries and then return once the hostilities end.

Sudan has been at civil war since 2023 (these power struggles have been on and off since the late '80s). Some 60,000 or more people have died since the start of this one, not just due to violence, but due to one of the worst famines in the world. I'm sympathetic to many of these young men, but we can't solve the problems there by taking all of them in.

Terrorist. Read about the Pan Am flight that was bombed over Lockerbie, Scotland.

Dunno if it's true but he said when he was alive he stopped human trafficking of Africans into Europe.

    Iran participation

At first I didn't understand their demand about the flag but thinking about a better , I believe this is about how Iranian anti regime protesters wave the pre-1979 flag that has the lion. As opposed to the current one that has an emblem with 4 swords. So what Iran is telling FIFA to do is not show the old flag, you have to mute if Iranians sing the old anthem, to not show protests outside the stadium. I believe FIFA can accommodate these 2 demands as they can mute any singing of the old anthem and direct their cameras not to show the the old flag with the lion. Aside from that, given US laws of what should be freedom of speech I don't see how they can stop any protests outside the stadium.

From the American Library Association .....

Under U.S. constitutional law, your freedom of speech is primarily a protection against government interference, rather than a universal right that applies to every person or entity.

The First Amendment specifically states that "Congress shall make no law... abridging the freedom of speech". This has been interpreted to mean:
    • Government Restriction: Federal, state, and local governments cannot jail, fine, or penalize you for your speech, except in very specific circumstances.
    • Private Entities: Private individuals, businesses, and organizations—such as employers, private schools, or social media platforms like Facebook—can legally restrict your speech on their property or platforms. Because they are not government actors, their restrictions do not violate the Constitution.

IDK part of me thinks the midterm vote will be delayed. Something might happen to justify a much bigger war response to Iran. There's no other way for Trump to succeed in a war with Iran without one.

Either he chickens or things really escalate. That's why it's important for people like Dan to speak out. We need more people like him running for Congress, calling out this disastrous war and the treachery of people like Fine for dragging us into it.

Va buo. What this means is they will show up, be offended at something, anything, and leave the tournament. Because dropped out now gives them absolutely no leverage.

All the Iraqi Christians I know say after Saddam was gone, Iraq became too dangerous for them.

We put Saddam in to stop a rising Shia crescent. If Syria, Iraq and Iran joined forces, the Sunnis and Israelis would have had big problems.

None of the interventions ever work out correctly. Each intervention in Iran has only made Iran worse. Even success like WWII were truth be told disasters. We left half of Europe under the Iron curtain. Fascism only existed as a response to Communism. We (the Western powers) funded the rise of both. Communism to overthrow the Tsars. Then the Fascists to counter the spread of Communism.

That’s what my uncle in Italy who fought in WW2 used to say.

If it wasn’t for the Fascists to counter the spread of Communism, Italy would be a communist country today.

To me, I see no difference between the two.

    @Rossonero23

Oh my bad. You clearly wrote Saddam and I mentioned Ghadaffi and the Pan Am bombing. Brain cramp.

He obviously was aggressor against Iran and Kuwait in the 1st Gulf War.

The WMD was a farce, obviously.

Saddam was another spawn of Satan.

His son Uday or whatever his name was was particularly sadistic as he would beat the soles of the football teams feet when they lost matches.

As I expected. They won't drop out as they would lose leverage.
