I don't know about Putin but NATO is two faced. The US is always paying NATO's bills and the organzation was formed and only exists to protect those countries against Russia. Then those same countries make deals with Russia and stiffs the USA , don't pay their bills so why should he care about NATO?

The U.S. has paid an unfair share of the cost for protecting Europe. This allows European nations to spend more on their own programs instead of defense. So, because the alliance is raw deal for the U.S., they are taken advantage of by NATO. Germany which is part of NATO and the US protects them against Russia. They in turn buy their energy from Russia and don’t buy anything from the US. Aside from this, the US has all their military bases in NATO nations which bring in much valued revenue and benefit the local economies. Now they won't even allow the US to land their own planes on their U.S. bases that they own or pay rent to. Italy for example, wouldn't let the US land their planes in Signonella. Whether they are against the war or not, they won't even allow planes to land on U.S. owned or rented bases. My uncle in Gaeta had a pharmacy (now his son owns it) where there was an American military naval base until I believe the late 80's or early 90's. He became a very wealthy man because of all of the American servicemen buying medicines. Then the U.S. -George H. W. Bush pulled out I believe or moved the base and then the towns people all complained that they no longer received the American dollars and revenue. I'd just like to see how they feel if and when Trump pulls all of the U.S. bases out of all those countries just to see how they like it.

There's enough information out there to suggest that putin has influence on Trump. Russia has been helping Iran providing logistical support in a war against the US. YET the US lifts sanctions against Russia.
Of course the US gets something out of it but so do all the surrounding cties near the military bases.
