These are crazy times. Elon says 1,000% US goes bankrupt. Its like the Titanic slowly but surely colliding with the iceberg. I dont believe its time to panic, but be ready to protect yourselves. During the Greek crisis, any bank account that had more than a 100K inside the EU-IMF took it as part of the bail-out package. The bail-out wasn't for Greeks, but for German banks to avoid a larger crisis. The German banks got money while average Greek lost their money or at least lost access and then value of their wealth. Mind you, this money they took from bank accounts was in Cyprus, but it affected many Greeks. This is called a bail-in, when they take money from the bank accounts. There were also capital controls to prevent bank runs, meaning people couldnt take money out of their accounts and basically had their accounts frozen. Best case scenario, thats where we are headed. Best case! My best advise is put money in hard assets. It doesn't need to be gold or silver or crypto. It could be diamonds, watches, art... hell it can even be chocolate! Anything that can hold value and is movable/transferable the better. Everyone thinks gold is a safe haven, but they forget that FDR confiscated gold in the last depression. Don't panic, because this could be a very slow process and will likely adversely affect those who are self-employed and who hold savings. But when it happens, it will be quick. Look at the Iceland and Greek crises to understand what will hapoen and what is the best way out. And like il ciuccio says, Ron Paul was right. I just hope folks listen to him when the shit hits the fan. Lets just suffer our losses and rebuild. No bandages. No bail outs. End the Fed. Move on all over again.
