Ian Sawyers is an ass! I hope one of the Beat players makes a hard sliding tackle in front of the Rays bench and takes the M*****F***** out!

WE CARE WHAT MARCI MILLER SAYS, YOU FREAKIN' LIMEY BASTARD!!

I really don't like him. We need to be out there in full force for the Beat and be really, really loud!! Ugh!!!!!

    Ian Saywers is an ass
the limey bastard has no class
married to Foudy (who likes to whine)
Which is what Ian will do when he
    reaches MILLER TIME!!!!!!!
Thinks the Brazilians will make the score
Not with Nonen guardin' the door
Who's legit?... we have the proof
just watch for Hoop, Abby, Sawa and Maribel
    to raise the roof!
For the Beat fans there is one hitch
We'll not be happy 'til we make Ian our BITCH!!

    :D

I think this needs to go in the rivalry forum (not that it doesn't look good here as well!!!). Tis time to copy and paste!

    WOW! That'll wake us up!

This should be an exciting game. Sawyer is getting a little too smug. He called it last game, but I don't think he's worried enough this time.

Look for the Beat to get their finishing back on track. My feeling, 3-1 Beat wins.

I'm going to the WNT game as well. It's gonna be one long soccered out day :)

    Leave it to KGB!! :D

I really want Sawa to have an excellent game-SJ defense can't touch her and Bjornsrud and company still can't have her.

The Beat need to be focused on the defensive side, and they haven't disappointed me yet in that matter. Relax and let it fly on the offensive side. My real concern is in the midfield with injuries, callups and lack of possession recently.

I would expect Scurry to be in the nets, however I would expect limited if any play from CP. (Assuming she makes the final USWNT roster - since the ussoccer site isn't working right now I can't verify). Crumpton will have to be great (again). With Miller hurting and Serlenga being questionable - then Dieke needs to get over the nerves and show us her stuff. Otherwise I see Julie stepping in for Nikki if she can't go. Which brings me to Calli Withers, anyone know her status?

    Predicated Lineup:
    Scurry (GK)
    Bivens - Nancy - Nonen - Gaston
    Miller - Serlenga (Julie)
    Sawa - Crumpton
    Dominguez - Hooper

    Predicated Result:
    Beat 3 - SJ 1

EDIT: I had to change some times after posting. Old brain cannot always adjust for time zones without hepl.

Lets see if Scurry playing is really realistic: (and a good idea)

I will assume that Scurry plays the first half of the US game.

12:00 PM CDT - 1:00 PM EDT - US game starts. Before this she must warmup and stretch to be ready for at leadt an hour.

12:45 PM CDT - 1:45 PM EDT - Earliest that first half can end. Scurry begins sitting and her muscles start to cool off.

2:00 PM CDT - 3:00 PM EDT - Game over and the post game talk and shower takes about 1 hour total getting to 4:00 EDT

Scurry leaves right away and, since taking a plane is actually longer than driving leaves straight for Atlanta. The drive is about 2.5 hours I think.

Scurry arives at 6:30 EDT and takes the field right away for warmup? I think not. She would be stiff from the drive and very subject to injury. It will take longer than a hour to get ready after the sitting,

She might be ready to play the second half but not the first.

The only way I see her playing the first half is if she leaves the Nat team game at the half. Which she will not do.

I do not see any national team players playing more than a half and I would be suprised if any play at all. The risk of injury is too great for any one game.

Have you all heard the latest chatter?...
Yes, Ian is as crazy as the mad-hatter
But Atlanta rocks just you wait and see
We're gonna take out the Rays and Ms Brandi
We'll get a score from a Beat or two
For sucking belongs to you know who...
yes, the CheetoRays...those smelly old fish
and Ian will have crow as his dinner dish!

Ya want some whine with that crow, Ian??

When is our Number 1 draft pick going to join the team? It must take longer to get a degree at Stanford!

I believe Withers and Miller have nothing to worry about. Dieke needs to show something on the field...more than just a few minutes of brilliance. She has to show she can make significant contributions for the majority of a full 90. So far she hasn't done that. Miller makes a difference the whole time she is on the field. Withers is expected to do the same. From all I've read and heard, I'd expect Withers to be with Atlanta by the June 7th game vs Carolina. I'm looking forward to seeing her play. I just hope it doesn't limit Abby and Marci's minutes too greatly. I personally think it would be awesome to see Marci and Withers side by side playing some kick ass soccer!

2.5 hours if you drive the speed limit and make pit stops - less than 2 if you keep up with the flow of traffic ;) I've made that trip from my front door to the Galleria in Birmingham in less than 3 hours - and I live in Gwinnett county on the Northeast (other) side of Atlanta. But it really depends on the traffic getting out of Birmingham and into Atlanta.

Its reality - no Scurry in Birmignham. So it will be only Beene, Brandi and CP motorin' it back to Herndon. And Abby Wambach made the roster, so Parlow will probably see only 45 mins with the Nats.

Good articles, however with Scurry not playing in Birmingham perhaps not as relevant. But some great quotes:

"We just don't play without Nikki," Beat coach Tom Stone said.

"Bri's playing so well right now," Heinrichs said. "She's consistent and her kicking game has improved. We know she's good in the air, she's a good shot-stopper and she plays well in big games."

"Stone is mulling over whether to drop midfielder Homare Sawa back, as he did late last week when Serlenga was replaced, or move right back Kylie Bivens into the midfield."

-if Sawa drops back, does Marigol drop back to Sawa's spot, and Pohler (or Burt) get a start?

-if Kylie moves up, I think Julie starts in the backline.

-it would be nice to have Withers ready to step in for an injured Serlenga.

Nice to get a little publicity, but we will miss Nikki, and if Marci and Nancy are not in top condition, we may hae somem problems. I guess we'll get a good look at some rookies today. Rain is probable, and with the very wet wether in Atlanta the past week, I wonder what condition the field will be in?

On the WUSA Atlanta Beat message boards it has been posted that Callie Withers joined the team and Katie Antongiovanni was waived and picked up by San Jose. So thats interesting but if anyone can confirm this it would be awesome because I can not find it anywhere!

Urgggggg that makes me sooooooo mad.... Emily does not deserve that at all. I just went on the Beat site to the roster and Emily is not listed at all so does that mean she is gone entirely? I think the developmental players should be released before a reserve player and if Emily is gone then oh lord tom stone and i are gonna have it out.. he he! But ya I can't get to the game tonight so someone better post about who is there and who isn't and all that!

Ya tom is gonna have to deal with me too. And ya I am sure thay dieke is a good player its just too bad I have not seen any of her brilliant play yet!!! You should stick with the people you know will have an impact and can perform well at this level.

Anyone at the game tonight- was Burt there and did Gaston play that well that Julie was not brought in at all?
