My sources tell me that a round-up of Beat players is occuring for a training match against Auburn University on 3/14. With the WUSA Festivals looming, many pros are looking for games and this one seems to have surfaced as a possibility. I could not reach my source today who tipped me off on this last night but I will follow up with details by Sunday night if they are available. Auburn is only 1.5 hours from Atlanta away so let's go if this game is on! Supposedly a match with Clemson is also in the hopper. Hey, if all I get is a two-game look in 04 at what became my favorite sports team of all time then I am so going. I can't make it to LA or Minn so this might be it for the 2004 Beat fix. More to come.

    Athens, GA.
Thanks for the tip off. Keep us posted. They need to schedule one here in Athens against UGA as well.

    Yes, thanks for the info.

The last time the Beat played Auburn it was in Fayetteville at the Lightning AFC fields. Actually, it was the field that my daughter played on today. Very nice complex, and only 15 minutes from my house, so I'd love it if they came back here again.

Beat players and more take on Auburn

Beat players will travel to Auburn University this weekend to play the University of Auburn in a spring game on Sunday, the 14th. No word as to whether or not coach Stone (or other) will accompany the team for this exhibition game. I heard today that Hooper will be in town this week and is planning on playing in this match. Not much to do for Canada now that all is lost there, I guess. Tentative game time is 6:00pm. That kind of rules out my trip down there since I have to be at work early Monday but I may make the trip anyway just to see how our girls are playing. Miss the Beat? I do.
