As much as I respect what Sun Wen has done in the past I think it is time for her to retire from the Beat.

I just wonder where our three foreign picks are going to come from. It's been a while since the Beat announced "negotiations" with a foreign star... with the promise of an announcement naming her soon.

The lack of foreign players willing to come to the US is not a good thing. The first and second year foreign players were willing to join the WUSA... 2003 seems to be another story. Which is not good news since we do have 3 spots open. Tom may be needing Sun Wen because there aren't that many options out there...ya know?!

Good points, Kim. The Beat front office has been very quiet the last couple of months. I don't think any team inthe league can win the cup without a strong foreign contingent, plus it would give the lie to WUSA's claim (valid, these past two years) to be the premier women's league.
