Looks like I'm gonna be forking out another $65 or so for a new jersey!

And speaking of... you think they'll have a Bivens jersey now, or what?! :D

Ugh. At least with the Umbro jersies there was more than just baby blue on them. The purple and white looked sharp along with the blue. Now, they're just ho-hum along with most all of the other teams in the WUSA.

Damn. I wish I could get the $$ to get one of the old ones before they're all sold out.

    :(

Whoa! Nike is better than Umbroke

Hey everybody....slow down a bit huh? Here is what I heard went down with the Nike deal....as you all know, Umbro went under and the Beat was still with no equipment supplier as recently as Nov/Dec. Fortunately, Nike stepped up to the plate to save the Beat's %$#@. Evidently, Nike really wanted the Beat and they have had a pre-existing relationship with Stone and some Beat players so the deal got done last minute. There was no way Nike, nor anyone else for that matter could have made a custom jersey in such short notice. These companies plan/design one year out for their teams plus they did not even know the Beat would be available until Umbro sank. I have heard that the Beat is very excited to get into this new gear and be working with one of the "big 2" in soccer. Furthermore, with a year to plan, expect to see the Beat in a more custom design for the 2004 season.
In the meantime, let's start harassing the Beat about getting a Bivens jersey on the racks this year!

why is bivens overlooked so much? I mean not just the jersey thing, but callups too. Apparently the media (at least the ppl at europeanwomenssoccer.com) dont think she's that good. In the fantasy game, she is listed at just 1.9 million while others like leslie gaston, the newbie, is listed at 2.4 million. Oh and about umbro...I didn't know they went under. What happened? They are sponsoring the europeanwomenssoccer.com fantasy league. I wonder if the fantasy league will be cancelled.

I'm pretty sure it was only Umbro USA that went under...the parent company is still in business.

The same thing happened with the Courage, from what somebody else posted on another board. The Puma deal was signed too late to get a custom-designed Courage uniform, so it looks like we'll be using the jersey style that Everton (another Puma-supplied team) uses. That's fine - I like the Everton jerseys.
