Big upset over the hosts, Costa Rica 4-6 Guatemala. So now a rematch of El Salvador vs Guatemala. Winner qualifies to to the WC again.
Wasn’t ES the host brother? Also; bad luck on drawing ES. Guate had a good team but ES just dominated every team they played
it’s been an absolute pleasure to watch this team put 100% into every game they’ve played. La Selecta dominated every team they played
The Beach Soccer Cup has been going this past week. First our girls had a good win against the Bahamas 5-2. On match date two they went up against Argentina and they loss 7-6. This game featured a tenacious comeback as they were down 5-1 going into the third period, tonight they finish up against the US. As for the men they began with an impressive win over Germany 4-1. The second game was an amazing back and forth against Uruguay which went to PKs, our guys managed to secure the win and now finish off against Mexico.
The final was the ES women lost 3-1 to the US women, who took the tournament on the women side. Tough loss, as the US were in control most of the game and look to be the best side for the women beach soccer in CONCACAF. ES has a young team though, so let’s hope they learned a lot for the upcoming qualifiers. On the mens side, ES came back against Mexico down 2-1 and won 3-2 with some ‘controversy’. I say it like that bc a lot of people tend to forget beach soccer has SOME rules that are different, one being that a bicycle kick cannot be interrupted at all, or even invaded in space for safety reason, and that’s what the Mexican defender did to our Forward, so that’s how we had the game winning pen. Our guys took the tournament with 2 W and 1 draw and a win in pens. They look good and ready for the WCQ.
It’s been forever since an update apologies. Both the men and women sides qualified for the 2023 AONC World Beach Games. The men had a bye until the semis where they defeated Costa Rica in PKs the faced the United States in the finals but fell 2-4, lack of definition was brought up in the post game. Now for the women it was played in a round robin format, where they went undefeated the wins came against Trinidad & Tobago (5-2), Bahamas (5-1), and the United States (5-4). This year is a very loaded schedule for the beach side here’s the list of events.
