U-N-I-T-Y I get that the players are using unity a message to focus on; I don't get why it's attached to MPF. "Let's go unity some tickets!". Anyway.
Oh my, . This is a serious question, how many of you support the ad campaign that is MPF? DC did not really have a 'concept' last year, but we just came out with ours today: 'Blackout', and its seemed to be well accepted.
It's not really a question of supporting MPF. MPF is an ad campaign designed to drum up interest among midfield seat holding types. For a hardcore fan to pay attention to MPF is like saying you needed to be reminded there were playoff games, in which case you weren't a hardcore fan to begin with. We should be out there supporting the team with or without MPF. So, MPF isn't for us, it's for other fans. People pick on it anyway (espec. those who aren't Metro fans), but it doesn't really affect us. If it gets more people to a playoff game, good. The question is whether or not they could have a different campaign that worked better and drew more fans to the park, but....no one has any data on front office marketing ideas that have worked to compare it with the non-working ones, so we can't speak to that. If there wasn't a "blackout", wouldn't you still go to DC playoff games? I would hope so.
Blackout???? ????? uhhhhh??? ???????? Freddie Adu caught a case of MPF and BLACKED OUT Couldn't really think of anything else........
Yes, that is what DC is doing, encouraging everyone to wear black, and they are selling ticket packages that come w/ a 2004 blackout shirt, etc.
DCU has been doing the blackout for years (at least when there has been and important game) - all fans wear a black shirt. This year they have a blackout ticket package where you buy four playoff tickets and it comes with a t-shirt.
I recieved my UNITY wristband....errrr I mean rubberband today via our friends at the US postal service. Will wear it to the playoff games and if we lose I still can launch it like a projectile at DC fans from a safe distance.
Nope. Went to University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. (UWM) If you want I can snag you one of these sweet-a.ss rubberbands and stretch it really hard and snap it across the pond to you...
Hey everyone, my Unity band has just arrived!! Its really nice actually. A firey red latex band, with the words UNITY embossed in bold print sybolically sitting next to the METROSTAR moniker. Please order one METRO fans and Unite!
Just a thought...they should ship two..one red, one black. That way both wrists would have a Unity band.
