Reading line-up has the only change of Gunnarson (sp) in for Sidwell, who is out on yellow-card accumulation.
Bobby wins a corner, about 2 mins in. From the resulting corner, Kitson heads off the bar twice, then Gunnarson puts it over the bar...
Reading announcers asking for people to email in with their Christmas updates. Address is readingworld@hotmail.co.uk for those that are interested...
Pretty much all Reading so far. A little bit out of character for Reading away from home lately, which has generally been to defend and hit on the counter.
Anyone have a good audio link? The one I used to use is no longer in service... A little help would be much appreciated.
10 mins in. "Scrappy in the midfield at the moment". The announcers think that Reading will do well to come away with a draw, which seems to be primarily because Reading were beaten pretty soundly last year at Wolves. Not sure what that has to do with this year, though, but maybe that is just me. In any event, Wolves are drawing a huge number of matches this year, so perhaps that is the most likely outcome.
I am listening on Reading World. You could try whatever the local BBC service is for Wolverhampton. Wolves with a little more of the ball, then a great run from Little to create a chance, but doesn't come to anything.
By the way, I noticed when I was logging in that Reading World is running a special deal where you can sign up to get access for the 4 games over the holidays for 1.99 Pounds. About $0.75 a game...pretty good deal. Someone has emailed in that they are listening at the beach in Cyprus...
Announcers have noted that Bobby is spending a lot of time on the right side. Strangely, Little is not switching when that happens, but rather they are both playing over there to try to overload. Apparently Wolves are not much of a threat offensively on Bobby's side.
30 mins now. 1-0 to Reading. High, high praise from the announcers for Little's effort on the goal. Not many mentions for Bobby at the moment...
Coming up on 40 mins. Reading is reasonably good control at the moment, although seems to be more akin to Reading's typical away form, i.e. defend first, then hit on the break...
Marcus with his first real save off of a Wolves break that came off of a Reading break. Nothing comes of the resulting corner, In the meantime Little goes down and is now hobbling with a big bandage on his leg. Some confusion as Oster also got up to get ready to come in. Will have to wait to see if Little shows up for the start of the second half. 2 minutes of stoppage.
Half time. Seems to have been a typical Reading performance over this latest winning streak...control play, create chances and eventually one goes in and the result (for the sixth (?) match in a row) is a 1-0 lead at the break for Reading. The big question at the moment will be Little's health. After he came back on, he moved up front with Kitson and Doyle moved back to Little's spot on the wing. Got them to half time, but not a long term solution.
An injury to Little at this point is not a good thing. Well ok, it's not a good thing at any point, but reading have a number of games in a short time coming up, and they need Little who has been excellent this season. They probabaly can finish off this game without too much problems if he has to come off, but Id' really hope he can make it back quickly.
Agreed. When he first went down, apparently the trainer went out and immediately signalled back to the bench that he would have to be subbed out, and they carried him off the field. Oster jumped up and was waiting to come in, but there were no stoppages and before he could come in, Little hobbled back on, all bandaged up. Given the score line and all of the games coming up, I would be really surprised to see Little come out for the second half.
Guess Christmas and the thoughts of good will to everyone are over. As a USA fan maybe. As a Reading fan..... probably not
Wolves with a corner following a good clearance from Shorey. From the corner, a bit of pinball, then Ricketts puts it into row Q. (Not that Ricketts, a different Ricketts).
Reading has a great chance from a run by Kitson laid back to Harper, but he scuffs it. Wolves then try to break, but does not come to anything.
