Just wondering if anybody caught it, and if so, what were they saying? I was surprised that they were so "definite" about a Welsh win. So how'd they react?

Also, how'd they react to the red card? Looked pretty warranted to me...

If interested, we have posted MP3 of their coverage on the site.

They thought the red was deserved (he already had a yellow though, didn't he?).

    They noted:
    - Donovan and Convey. Gushing over them the whole match
    - USA's pace and Wales' inability to deal with it
    - Welsh players' lack of experience playing at a high level. The gap between league play and international play was too big, they thought. And Wales, like most Euro nations, don't play that many friendlies.
    - Being jaded and tired after a long season

Although they could have given the US a little more credit, and they did not mention that the US didn't have its A-side either, probably a fair assessment.

I love the start where he says "I can't see us getting beat"

    Thanks for the link, Wolves.

PS - Does your name refer to the old LA Wolves of the NASL or are you a Wolverhampton fan? If the latter, congrats on promotion.

Both. I saw their games here, including the final and have followed them as best I can ever since.
I'm going to England this next year to see them in the Premiership.

I'm listening to BBC pregame of the audio clip right now, and I don't know why Agoos or that other American reporter didn't bother to correct the commentators that it's called MLS, not MSL. And it was thrown in front of them at least three times.

I was thinking the same thing. I quess the were being "gracious hosts" not correcting them.

I enjoyed the mispronounciations like Mike Pet-ka, Jovan Sirovsku and Manny Lay-gos. I think Greg Var-ney was just a case of the British-style long 'a'.

BTW: The wolves of LA and Wolverhampton were one in the same. They played here in a "mini-season". Just in case you did not know.
The team they beat in the final was Aberdeen of Scotland.

On the penalty the BBC announcer said "No doubt about it." The color announcer agreed.

it was funny to hear how the BBC announcers were all confident before the game that Wales would win "comfortably..."

and who dominated the match?? not Wales

another thing I just noticed: SkySports.com says the match was in "San Diego." haha! I don't understand the British media....
