Haha, no, I was proudly wearing my German National Team jersey at the bar! I don't think the Austrians were pleased I like Vienna too, I spent a semester there five years ago. It's a nice city...of course, very big as well. Salzburg is smaller, but twice as beautiful.
I have a BMW 3 too, mine is a 2001 though. We have a sort of tradition in our family of owning German cars, not all BMWs though. It started with my Grandparents buying a VW Beetle in the early 70's.
Nice! Damn, we have way more in common than I thought. ACtually, I don't bike nearly as much as I used to, but did a ton in my growing up years - actually considered competitive biking once I got out of college, but never happened. Anyways, when I was in my early teens, my family at my begging visited the brand-new TREK plan in some remote town in Wisconsin. Totally cool! I was like a kid in a candy shop (hard to imagine, I know) and I don't think they were really prepared for a family to just stop in and ask for a tour, but they accomodated us. I own a very early edition Trek still... old school, as I am old. Sweet bike btw. PHAT! You own it? Have your Campagnolo "Cutter's" hat as well?
That is a nice investment. Do you do any racing/touring? Or just for leisure? Sounds like your prefered mode of transpo... of course, not this time of year. You should bike in Germany... loads of beautiful terrain to traverse.
Plenty of beautiful biking here as well. More leisure. A few guys and I go out at least once a week and do the 30-40 mile rides. I broke a 1000 miles last season and want to hit 1500 his year...so, probably a few 50-75 mile rides will be in my future.
Well, I could have understand Salzburg as a choice if i would have been for studying spatial informatics there since their department is supposed to be really good. But how the hell, can you study German there? I mean they use words like "Paradeiser" ... BayernWake, you are on the wrong side of the border!
yaeh, it is..bayernwake is absolutely on wrong border...i lived in vienna and their language..hm...Austrian use many funny words.....
I've never been to Salzburg but I've been to Vienna, St. Polten, Linz and some town in Tirol and they're all gorgeous, I've never seen such beauty in a country as I have in Austria, truly magnificent. One question, are the Salzburg rivers and lakes flowing with Red Bull now or what?
Bavarian beer is out of competition, it is simply the best beer in the world. i have never heard about austrian beer beeing famous abroad Bavarian beer is the best and bavarian cars are also best
looks expensive, but I prefer the more off road types. Here's mine http://www.felt.ch/picture/upload/Image/mtb07/500/q800s_07.jpg Of course I've modified it a bit, but I couldn't afford a better one
Well, firstly, I was short on options. I didn't choose to study in Salzburg specifically, I chose to study at Bowling Green State University in Ohio...it just so happens that the first year of the BGSU program is in Salzburg. The rest of the grad schools I applied to (all in the US) didn't have legitimate study abroad programs, so it was Salzburg or nothing. Besides, the majority of German I hear is in class, where my professors all speak Hochdeutsch (with no Austrian dialect). I can understand them fine. However, when I'm in my dorm around Austrians, sometimes I can't understand WTF they're saying.
Germany would not exist without Bavaria look our export: all the beer, car, our wonderful mountains, alps, our Oktoberfest, and our language
Yeah, it was bit of an investment, but I am riding it everywhere, weather permitting. My car driving was already low...and now it is even lower. Sometime this summer I will probably have made up the cost in saved gas. Also, I expect this bike to last me for quite a few years. Nice bike DI
