Any thoughts on Captain for this year? Magath is going to make the decision I think I read somewhere. As much as I like Kahn I would prefer a field player. People suggest Ballack, but I think he does not really want it. I think this has been a big problem for them since Effenberg has left. Any comments or ideas?

If Kahn won't be the captain, I'm pretty sure it'll go to Ballack. If Lizarazu would have still been around I think he would have gotten it. Ballack scored today against Leverkusen and is in great shape. Last year was just a slump for him I believe.

I think you maybe right but it always seems like he is too nice a guy :0
He is not going to fire up the troops like Kahn.

He does look to be in better shape. Did he ever play healthy last year? It seemed like he always played injured. Was it his ankle?

Kahn would be a great choice, but Ballack would also be a good one. Whether he wants to or not, he has to lead this team now. Not only on the pitch, but off of it. he has to play strong and keep this team going.
