Having attempted to come up with a band name and (frequently) having to come up with song titles, I've found that at this point it's almost impossible not to come up with something that someone hasn't already done in some form. In this case, yeah, it's another soccer team in the US, but chances are pretty high that across the landscape of world soccer, someone else will have done a "B" logo and probably tried to do something clever with the sides or whatever. My guess is that the designers of the Bay logo were not aware of the Brooklyn logo.
OK, my point stands except for the need to reverse the last sentence to "my guess is that the designers of the Brooklyn logo were not aware of the Bay logo", though frankly the Brooklyn logo looks shoddy enough that I wouldn't be too surprised if it was a cheap knock-off.
The Lions? No I hear you, and I think that's part of what I kind of like about it. A logo needs a simple, classic look to stand the test of time. If you use some kind of more ornate design, influenced by say the pop culture of the time, it's going to look silly in 10-20 years. Case in point is that Cyberrays logo. Old NASL Quakes logo to some extent also though a lot of us probably kind of like it for nostalgia's sake. But think of the sports logos that still look good after many, many decades - Yankees, Cubs, Reds, Steelers, Packers, (NFL) Cardinals, they are very simple and classic looking.
Thought I’d post this with the Bay FC thread - well cuz Brandi was there too. I don’t remember how we got Tony DiCicco’s autograph that day.
Bay FC is asking me to digitally sign a STH Agreement. Is this a new thing with sports teams? xxx requests your signature on Bay FC Season Ticket Member Agreement Thanks for supporting Bay FC! Please review and sign the attached Terms & Conditions governing your Season Ticket membership.
Really? You can now buy a house without ever setting foot in a bank or the house you want to buy. Electronic "paperwork" has been a "thing" for a while now.
no, i meant, i have to sign an agreement to buy a season ticket? I don't know what I'm supposed to agree to, but I don't plan to read or sign the doc unless they threaten me...
Hey Lawyers, I need a little help... I finally read the Bay FC STH agreement. I must waive all my rights to sue for anything including any injury. It also says if they add a regular season game, I have to pay for it, and if they delete a game there is no refund. They also require auto-renew be enabled. If I don't agree, I forfeit all monies paid. I don't understand how legally they can make STHs sign such an agreement after payment. You don't have to sign something like this if you buy individual tickets to any sporting event, so why should an STH have to sign it? Just looking for advice, as I am quite offended by all this. I don't remember doing this for the Quakes, but maybe I did so many years ago --- cheers, -mj lee
