I hated Pitch Black but I saw the season opener to this show and I love it. I adore the political undertones and the parallels to modern day events. I'm glad its being done allegorically if it can't be done directly because of the "sensitive" subject matter. Cool beans, I'm definetly sticking around for more.
From another one, if you liked Pitch Black, do not see Chronicles of Riddick, they are two different films, the former; an interesting experiment that pays off, the latter an incredible bore, which I fell asleept to, on my worst films of all time list.
A pre-Season 3 backstory on the New Caprica resistance movement, including some information about Jammer and Duck that you wouldn't know from the first episode of Season 3.
I'll take all of your word for it. I wasn't hellbent on seeing the film anyway. I just thought it'd be something I would enjoy watching. But after seeing all of you post in pretty much every thread for the shows I like, I'm thinking we all have the same tastes. I'll pass on Riddick, then. No great loss, really. I'm backlogged on movies for years as it is. It's unlikely I'd ever get around to watching it.
On Friday before the Premier there was this "The Story so far" on, an hour summary of the first two seasons. Since I didn't want to wait to see the two seasons seperately I watched the Premiere (not being able to see the wrap up show) and was amazed, hooked in right away and I understood it fully. However I recorded that wrap up show. I watched it just now and I have to say I'm astonished how much depth this show has, the different storylines, the drama, the scope of this show, the undertones, it has to be the most complete show on television. I wish I would have watched the first two seasons now, and I probably will anyway.
Even jumping in now at the start of season 3 you definitely need to watch the first 2 seasons. It will give you so much more knowledge and love of the characters and a more in-depth understanding of all the plots and on-going storyline.

I'm sure you're able to get the gist of it without watching the pilot or first two seasons, but you are actually missing a lot. You just don't realize it 'cause you don't know what you missed.
I went and checked out the board and damn it's embarassing. Besides the nutters there are some cocks posting. Almost like a legion of Bill Archers.
Watch the episode on Friday and watched again last night - it was pretty good. I thought it got slow at times, but overall it really set up what's to come. I watched the webisodes, but they pretty much summed it all up to get the dude to be a human bomb. Personally I didn't like the idea of them using the human bombs - thought they could have found a better way of doing the damage. Overall - this show is still awesome and I look forward to tomorrow night.
I know there are some at Scifi.com and there was (probably still is) a busy BSG forum at www.gateworld.net
The one's at Sci Fi are the best... for reading the idiotic responses that is. I'm registered over there as juventuz, anyone else registered over there?
I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but I followed one of my own links and a thread mentioned a "new series" Caprica. There's an imdb entry for it.
RDM said that the first draft has been turned into Sci Fi and they're waiting on the networks decision.
Apropos of nothing in particular, I'm embarrassed at how long it took me to figure out the reference in Dan Loney's sig.
