Thought I'd add an R since we'll be disussing the eps soon enough. Anywho, October 6th at 9pm... Season 3 starts On September 5th, the BSG webisodes will premier, they'll air twice a week on scifi.com.
Can't wait ... what a great damn show it's been. Wasn't sure what to expect (specially since I was too young to see the original show), but fell in love with it from the first episode...
Nice to see that there will be Webisodes - wish they were 10 minutes each, but still will get my fix until October. The preview they showed during Eureka was awesome - I just don't want to wait until October.

Now I'll try bribery to spice up the title of the thread: Lite spoilers ahead but good info. if you want to see where 3.0 is heading: http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=24377
Eh, we all do it. Remember that the webisodes premiered yesterday and will be shown every Tuesday and Thursday until season 3 starts.
The more previews I see the more excited I am for the new season to start. Everyone who I get to watch this show just gets hooked. It's just hard to get them past thinking it's just like the old show.
This weeks Webisode was just a little too short. I wish they were all 3 - 5 minutes long - that would be awesome. It's funny how many people think when you say you watch BSG that it's the old one. I have turned about 6 people in the office onto it. I let them borrow season 1 and 2.0 and now they are waiting for 2.5 to come out so they can watch before the 3rd season starts. I can't wait - it's going to be awesome!
I've been watching Dark Angel on Sci-Fi, and there are a lot of BSG actors who made guest appearances on DA. I've counted at least 5: Callie (very young), Dualla, Chief, Crashdown, and ... uh... can't remember the fifth. Maybe there were just four.
Ever watch Da Vinci's Inquest? The number of actors that lap between series is way too many to list. I think it's the whole filming in Vancouver thing.
Vancouver? It's like Boston, California. For those who watched the first ep of Studio 60. The new Entertainment Weekly has BG cover and a big story inside.
Chalk up #5/6 - Lt Gaeta as a messenger at Jam Pony. Just saw a location shot that looked an awful lot like Caprica.
Nah, I know it is filmed in Vancouver. Battleship Galactica: http://www.battlestargalacticadvd.com/game/
Can someone sum this show up. I want to get into this, as I've heard nothing but good reviews. I haven't seen any of the original episodes not did I watch the first two of this new one. Why is it good? Is it one of the better tv shows or is this getting praise from the nostalgic sci-fi fans only?
Actually it's the nostalgic sci-fi fans that have made the most uproar about not liking it because it's a totally separate story and reimagining of the original and not a continuation of it. It is one of the better TV shows because it takes on the world we live in right now and our nation's current state of affairs with plots revolving around politics, abortion, vote fixing, paranoia, survival, religious extremists and finally what it means to truly be human. My very brief summary for you is Battlestar Galactica is about to be decommisioned when the Cylons attack and destroy almost all of humanity except for about 50K people on various starships and the Galactica. The Cylons aren't just the robots you remember from the 70s show but there are also 12 humanoid versions that can integrate into society so nobody knows who they are. The humans are on the run from the Cylons and trying to find a rumored planet called Earth.
Actually there is a good amount of back story but with the way the last season ended I think jumping on with the start of this season would actually be ok. If you like it and want questions answered then you can check out the past seasons on DVD and ask questions here. There's an [R] in the title so I'll give you this about last season without revealing too much. The humans found a planet to settle on that is basically a barren rock and think they have escaped the Cylons. Galactica and the other ships remain in orbit while people settle the planet. Then they Cylons jump into the system and find them, the human ships jump away because they would have been destroyed, and the Cylons take over the human settlement. I've read there will be some interesting twists to current events with the human insurgents employing suicide bombers against the Cylons.
