I just downloaded the beta for Battlefield: Hardline and hope to play it soon. As has been pointed out elsewhere, this game's beta already seems to run more smoothly than Battlefield 4 did right at its launch; one reason for that could be because Visceral Games made this game rather than DICE (fun fact: Visceral Games created Battlefield 3: End Game, the final DLC for BF3). Though I understand that to keep with the Battlefield theme this game had to remain pretty much run-and-gun (at least the mulitplayer portion), I was hoping that it would've instead been closer to what S.W.A.T. 4 was (as well as the S.W.A.T. series and early Rainbow Six series in general), from the planning stage to the cautious execution stage and whatnot (speaking of which, I wish that I could load up S.W.A.T. 4 again and play it, but that unfortunately is no longer possible now that my PC runs on Windows 8.1, and it couldn't on Windows 8 before that). -G
It looks like they're already implementing changes based on the recent beta testing, with another round of beta testing coming sometime this fall. -G
Open beta date will be revealed today. I'll admit, I'm starting to look forward to this game more and more.
Beta begins next Tuesday Feb. 3 and runs until the 8th. link I always thought the game was pushed back not because of multiplayer performance issues, rather due to lack luster opinion on the gameplay and fear it wouldn't meet sales expectation. Either way I plan to give it a go again and see if it clicks this time.

You can actually start pre-loading the beta now and then be ready for when the beta servers open tomorrow (Tuesday, February 3rd). -G
So, did anyone enjoy the beta? Did it convince ya to buy the full game? For me, it got me to reinstall Battlefield4 and play some of that. Nice bonus in doing that, is I found out EA Access members get Second Assault for free. As for Hardline, I really enjoyed the map Dustbowl (I think that is what it was called), provided a nice mix of long range and close range battles and the rolling in dust storm was very cool. Other than I Conquest I tried out a few rounds of Heist and thought it was an interesting game mode that after some learning would be fun. Never got around to trying out the third game mode. EA said 6 million users tried out the game so that should hopefully be a good sign that they will be prepared for demand on launch week.
Was that the "hotwire" mode? It was almost like conquest on wheels. Five mobile points (vehicles), and the longer you drove it around the more points you got.
I played it a bit, obviously since we were rolling around in the Dustbowl Friday night there NORML. I for one will be passing on this game, it didn't interest me in playing it at all. I didn't care much for the Beta. Visually, it was not impressive at all. It looked like stuff I was playing on the 360 two years ago.
Sadly, no. Fired the game up one night, got distracted, never made it to the main menu. That was my Hardline experience.
So this is the crap Visceral Games have been working on, instead of their signature IP's like Dead Space? Sigh...
