    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Really cool game! :)

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp You can play in the game's massive campaign, or choose one of many different battles from World War II... and you can play as either side. You can drive jeeps and tanks, pilot planes, man the machinegun at a base or on a tank, just be an infantryman, etc. This seems to be the game that WWII Online had originally aspired to be, but without the monthly fees.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Just don't forget to download the latest drivers for your video and sound cards, though. ;)

P.S. = To allow yourself the ability to choose which video refresh rate to play the game in as well as the video resolution (instead of just the video resolution), go to the VideoDefault.con file in the game and change:

    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0

    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp to

    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp So after installing your copy of Battlefield 1942 and its expansion pack Battlefield 1942: The Road to Rome, download and install these goodies, in the following order:

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp From the game's official downloads page, download and install:
    • Version 1.31 patch (which already includes the Coral Sea map)
    • Operation Aberdeen map

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp From the Merciless Creations mod downloads page, download and install:
    • Merciless 1942 v4 mod
    • Merciless 1942 v.4 - Soldiers Field Guide Handbook (.pdf format manual)
    • Each of the Texture Packs on that page (none of which are initially included within the v4 mod)

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Trust me - you won't regret it!

Just recently got converted to online mulitiplayer games. My freind has always been a hardcore gamer and his PC is a super gaming machine. I see battlefield is a firm favourite among the action-war games. I wanted to buy the original from Walmart for pc at only 10 bucks but is it worth it or should I jump straight to battlefield 2?
