I don't like this. Batistuta is no longer playing well at all for Roma, why get him? He won't be as good as someone who will be cheaper and better. Ronaldinho is awesome, but will cost a lot, and we don't need that when we have Emre who if he goes on like this or in his prime could be one of the best in the game. We also have Recoba who can play that position also, as well as Dalmat and Morfeo. What we really need is Solari, and while I know we need a back up striker ( and it seems like we'll get Batigol as the players were discussing his arrival on the website), I woud think we need a left winger more. We have plenty of strikers, it's just that they get injured all the time. Wouldn't this be a great line-up: Toldo Zanetti Cannavaro Materazzi Coco Conceicao(well if he hits form) Zanetti/Di Biagio Emre Solari Recoba (at least while Crespo is out) Vieri In my opinion, Recoba is much much better than Batigol, at least in their current form. Since we can get Solari for free, we could get another striker, but we shouldn't get one as well thought of as Batigol, or else Cuper will be pressured to play him over Recoba (and it doesn't seem he likes Recoba as much as some of the other players ,and which he would probably do) then Batigol would be playing, Recoba would be unhappy, and he'd probably be sold in the summer. And after Ronaldo left, Recoba is my favorite player! We need to act on Solari, he is the player we truly need. We could use another striker, but not someone like Batigol. Look at our display of forwards when Crespo( including Batigol) comes back: Crespo, Vieri, Recoba, Batigol, Ventola, Kallon. None of our lefts mids really play left mid. We have to straighten out are priorities.
The question is who fills the void left by the Crespo injury over the next 2/3 months. We can't risk playing Vieri each match either, given his injury history. Kallon is great but coming off of injury. Ventol is not yet back, right? Recoba is great, but for some reason Cuper just doesn't like him up front. I think they bring in someone as a stop gap measure. I also do not think Batigol is the answer. Any phenoms on the reserve squad?
Agree 100%. But it now is looking inevitable that he will come to Inter. The closest thing to a phenom on our reserve team it seems is Martins, but I don't think he's that close at all. I heard we are trying to get Adu for our youth team. I hope we can. That would be the best! The thing about our forwards is we have four big target people( Ventola, Vieri, Crespo, and I'll include Batigol) what we really need is someone more like Kallon or Recoba. We need someone who is quicker.
