Fulham are trying to pursuade Batistuta to come out of retirement in Qatar and join the Premiership side. Any thought on this possibility. Re: McBrides playing time, this would be good news. Batigol might have a few games left in him, but it's no more than a few. You're right on the games to go around bit, and it also would be the sort of move that, 1, pleases fans with a big name, and 2. says they're happy enough with their options up front not to splash out a lot.
I tend to agree with you, but on the other hand--he knows this will be a swan song of sorts, and with no real chance of any future glory, at least playing in the EPL would be one last feather in his cap this move could secure.
Nope, they're back in Serie A after winning C2 two years ago and winning the Serie B playoff this year. That said, I'm still not sure they have the money to pay the wages he would be asking. Also at this point in his career, I doubt Batistuta will feel like adapting to a totally different style of soccer. Still, anything is possible.
Wasn't he exploring a move to the EPL a few years back... I seem to recall reading that he and his wife were taking English lessons in antcipation of such a move.
They are moving back to Serie A next season. They are also going after Roberto Baggio who started at Fiorentina and Rui Costa. Anyway, Batigoal in his prime actually stayed with Fiorentina when they sank to Seri B. He has loyalty with the club. He always said that he would like to finish his career at Fiorentina. pething101, and yes, I seemed to recall that Batigoal wanted to join the EPL.

I would think they'd be better served with youth, however. And given their recent past... Also, please inform, is this the same club, restructured, or a newly created one from the ashes of the old.

As good of a plater as BAtistuta was, his form has tapered off in the last few years, and I cant see him keeping up in the EPL...
