Bremen to land Basturk Friday, 02 April 2004 by Chris Ives The general consensus in the German press is that talented Turkish playmaker Yildiray Basturk will quit Bayer Leverkusen in the summer and join Bundesliga leaders Werder Bremen. It has been reported that the diminutive schemer has reached a verbal agreement to move to the Westerstadion and will sign a three-year deal worth an estimated £2.5 million a season. Werder are keen to reinforce their depleted squad, with star striker Ailton and Mladen Krstajic both leaving the club in the summer. Leverkusen general manager Ilja Kaenzig has reluctantly accepted that Basturk will be leaving Bayer but made no effort to hide his disappointment. ''We spent a lot of money to get him from Bochum and enabled him to become an internationally acclaimed player,'' Keaenzig told Express. ''But if it's thanks you are after, then you are in the wrong business.'' Re: Jefferson Farfan to Bremen Another rumor going around is about Peruvian International Jefferson Farfan. As a replacement for Ailton. He's a striker for Alianza Lima, with enormous amount of talent. Alianza Lima is the same team as where Claudio Pizarro was bought from.

at his age farfan is better than what pizarro was at the same age hes scored 4 goals in 5 matches in copa libertadores he really needs to move to europe as soon as possible
Bremen would not be the right team for Farfan. They already have Klose, Klasnic, Valdez and Charisteas - where should Farfan fit into this squad ? Hamburg was interested in him and wanted to test Farfan in a trial training, but his team told Hamburg that he is not available and that they want to sell him to Moscow - how stupid...
