Is this the end of our road? I mean, sure we COULD get a point vs. Valenica and three at Basel, but the odds of something blowing up in our face are just too high. Is anyone as pessismistic as me on this one? If not, please try to brighten my mood with something clever and witty.
It ain't over til its over. We have only lost away to Valencia since the start of the season. I'm sure we can and will earn enough to go through. Walk on through the wind, walk on through the rain and YNWA!
Valencia have to come to Anfield remember. I know we can beat them there. The crowd will be fired up. Houllier will have the team ready. We will also beat Basle away, no problem. I see us securing 6 points (not 4) from the last two matches and are goal difference is looking great. If we only need a draw at Basle then we'll get it, but I see us going there needing a win and we'll get it. All of the teams will rightly be terrified of Owen, while they are looking at him Baros will sneak in and get a goal or two!
First Phase Group B Valencia 10 points GD: 9 Liverpool 7 points GD: 5 Basle 5 points GD: -2 Spartak Moscow 0 points GD: -12 Next matches are us v Valencia and SM v Basle in Moscow. WHEN we win against Valencia, that will put us on 10 points, a draw away in Basle in November clinches it. And Sp. Moscow might be tempted to help us out too, a nice draw v Basle would be handy
It’s not going to be easy but the lads are on winning streak right now. Lets see how the injury situation goes and if we get our first string started I can’t see Valencia beating us at home. The Basle game was a weird one, we know we should have won and with Michael back scoring….wellllll…..!!!
Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Valencia could've lost today, Basel played very well today. No one, no one wins here easily: About the goal difference - should Basel and Liverpool be tied (in pts.) after the last game, then goals scored in matches between the two teams will decide. As of right now that score is 1-1, with the away goal going to Basel, meaning that a 0-0 tie won't do it for Liverpool.
