Wade Barrett did not play in a 2-0 loss at Brøndby. AGF sits 9 points above the relegation zone with 5 games left to play.
It seems that last week Barrett was a last-minute scratch from the lineup due to injury. Is he still injured?
Barrett has played in 17 of 28 games so far this season, and most of the games he missed were when he was out due to injury for almost 2 months in the fall. I'm not sure if he's injured again.
He was injured last week, so it certainly wouldn't be surprising if it was the same problem this week.
Brøndby - AGF Aarhus 2-0 (2-0) 1-0: Mattias Jonson (26.) 2-0: Jonas Kamper (38.) Attendance: 17,620 The situation was clear. Brøndby simply had to win this match to stay in the race for the Danish championship, and it was an excellent playing Brøndby team totaly dominating and having all the play vs. a poorly playing and poorly defending AGF team in the first 45 minutes, so it was a deserved 2-nil lead to Brøndby at halftime, even thou the first Brøndby goal was clearly offside... However, Brøndby lost control of the match in the 2nd half, with AGF playing much better, and also due to better physique, it was AGF dominating and having most of the play and ball possession throughout the 2nd half, thou the AGF players still show that they have some trouble with the new 4-3-3 system... AGF didnt manage to create that many opportunities, and since Brøndby also had their opportunities on a few counter attacks, it was a derserved win to Brøndby in this match.... With AGF 9 points above the relegation zone and only 5 games left to play, AGF dont need to worry about relegation, both AB and Frem lost their matches and both teams are horrible poor and play with no self-confidence at the moment....Wade Barrett is still injured, and I'm not sure if he will be able to play in the next home game vs. the Danish Championship favorites Esbjerg.... ----- Esbjerg - Viborg 2-0 (1-0) 1-0: Fredrik Berglund (2.) 2-0: Jan Kristiansen (82.) With a 2-nil win vs. the "favorite-killers" Viborg, Esbjerg look more and more like a favorite to win the Danish Championship....Viborg have both beaten Brøndby and FC Copenhagen, and the Viborg player Michael Gravgaard said -"After today, I have no doubts that the gold will end up in Jutland. Esbjerg is winning the important games, and also their subs play well". Thou Esbjerg have played much better football this season, they got the 3 points in a difficult match vs. a Viborg team who, due to ther excellent defencive play and lethal counter attacks, allways give the league favorites a hard time.. ---- OB Odense - FC Copenhagen 0-4 (0-1) 0-1: Hjalte Nørregaard (28.) 0-2: Hjalte Nørregaard (47.) 0-3: Jesper Bech (64.) 0-4: Jesper Bech (89.) OB only managed to compeat with FCK the first 15 minutes, otherwise it was FCK in full control throughout this match, doing an excellent and professional job, showing that they are reaching for the gold. Also with the young FCK talent Jesper Bech scoring a wonderful goal in the last minute of this match.. OB on the other hand, did a very poor show, and got their 2nd home defeat this season.. ---- Superliga standings (28 of 33 games played) : http://www.fodboldland.dk/ligainfo.asp?id=1 .
