OK gang, here's the latest and the greatest from DC United. Anyone having bought season tickets thru the Barra can pick them up at the Barra ticket window tomorrow and Saturday beginning at 5:30. The old ticket booth has been demolished so look for the Barra sign at the trailers. Rob and myself will try to direct people to the correct location at the tailgate. Oscars sister will be working the booth and as this is her first time I STRONGLY urge everyone who's picking up tickets to do it as early as possible. Buying single tickets for the game shouldn't be an issue. Just prepare to show some ID when getting your season tickets. Oscar assured me that you will get everything owed to you including parking passes and tshirt vouchers. Unfortunately I probably won't get down there before 5:30 or so to help but Rob should be in Lot 8 by 3:00. If anybody needs my assistance on this end until 5:00 tomorrow you can reach me at 571-237-1601 On a pleasant note, my spies inside RFK tell me that the field looks absolutely beautiful. No seams or lines from the baseball infield or pitchers mound. The railing in front of our section is no longer. It's now a wall so you guys hanging banners plan on using the longest wire ties you can find or bring lots of rope. I hope this helps out, please feel free to PM me or call if I can be of anymore assistance. See you guys tomorrow night.... VAMOS UNITED Chico
See you there tomorrow. Who I can look to about taking care of membership for '05? (You were right, Oscar never wrote back).
135 is also now signficantly closer to the pitch than it was--tweaked and frogboy, you know what to do. i think the tickets will be in the trailer, but the booth may have in fact (for this week) survived demolition. i will be there at 5:30 when it opens to make sure things come together.
Thanks for looking out for us Chico & Rob. --I SHOULD be there absolutely no later then 5pm... I am giving myself 2 hours for what normally takes an hour or so.... I am sure that means i will probably be there just before game time
Thanks for getting this info up there Chico. I spoke with the good generalisimo Oscar this afternoon. It was a surprise to get a call from Bolivia. He also informed me that he is personally overseeing the production of our 2005 jerseys and that he will have them ready upon his return. A new Barra record. He also added that there will not be any discounted tickets for members until he gets home (membership renewals will start when Oscar is back in the booth or through Rob). He will continue to take all ticket reservations for Wed and saturday and he will guide his sister via e-mail and phone. Season tickets will be in the ticket booth. As Chico noted we all need to help out Oscar's sister as much as possible by hitting the ticket "booth or trailer" prior to kick off and not storm it in our usual drunken manner. This is for the Barra walk-ups. Those of us with on field passes need to get them from the booth as well. Oscar called Fred Mathis about the passes for getting banners etc. up. Any questions or concerns please ask myself, Rob, Chico or any of the Barra vets. Let's make this run smoothly until Oscar gets back for the second MLS home game. Lots of good times ahead... see you tomorrow and get ready to sing. Vamos United!
Can we actually BUY the season tickets/membership tonight or Saturday? I emailed Oscar before the game at the soccer plex (which we couldn't go to) and he said just call him when we got there. I did specificallly mention season tickets/membership to him, but still confused about whether we can take care of that tonight if we aren't on his list or what have you. Thanks, Katy and Joe
Yes I believe you can. If she can't do it tonight look me or Big Rob up and we'll have it set up so they'll be waiting for you on saturday.
From all the reports I've been getting, Oscar's sister did a great job yesterday. Some people didn't even arrive until after 7:00 and still got thru the Barra line quick and easy. If you see her Saturday give her a " thank you and job well done".
Lets wait until he gets back with the jerseys and buys us a keg. THEN we'll tell him he's been replaced.
Newbie question #1,365 I sent Oscar an email ( I know I know) asking to hold 3 tickets for this Saturday's match, Well I may only need one or two. Is it my responsibilty to get rid of the third via tailgate or just ask for what i need when i walk up? OK I'll stop.
Single game tickets shouldn't be an issue. I just suggest you go up when she opens the booth, take care of it and then sit back and enjoy the tailgate.
Thanks guys, I plan on going up as soon as it opens (5:30?) Although I plan on getting to the tailgate about 4. Thanks for the info and I'll bring the dues with me too.
Two more newbie questions: 1) My sister and I want to join BB for this season. We'll be down by the tailgate tomorrow...what do we need to do to join? 2) I got a freakin' Flex plan a few months ago...but of course I want to always sit in the BB section. So how do I exchange tickets? Do I go to the ticket booths as soon as I get there, turn in my voucher for an actual ticket, and then exchange that ticket at the BB booth later? I'm confused .
