    Things have reached this level....

Following DC United's latest "Non-win" of the season one Barra Brava member has decided to stage the ultimate protest. "Loco" William has decided to go on a hunger strike until United wins a game.

"I'll miss eating food, but I'm willing to sacrifice myself to inspire a win by United," commented William. "Hopefully, I will not have to waste away slowly and die an agonizing death by starvation. I have faith that United will not let me die."

Unlike other notable hunger strikers William is not requesting anything too difficult like world peace, equal rights, or freedom of religion. He merely wants a United victory.

The Barra DC does not want to lose a great member like William, therefore it is asking for one win for William's sake.

If this act of loyalty does not inspire victory maybe we will start sacrificing one gringo per week until the victories start. Vamos United!

(Disclaimer: William is (relatively) alive and well, in fact, he might not even know he's on a hunger strike)

I think I'll go the other way and console myself with food. Are there any 24-hour donut shops in VA?

Weird, I was just considering this idea this afternoon. Hard to do something though when we only average playing about a game a week.

I fear William's going to die a slow agonizing death.

hey, wanna know something more realistic. Lets all go on a eating strike. Those of us who are not already fat, can eat as much food as possible until united wins. that means that we are going to eat turkey and bacon all day... mmmmmm

I think you guys are on to a really good idea. [IMG]
If just a few of you did this, the publicity for the team could be quite good. The press opportunities as members of Barra Brava lay in hospital beds close to death while Ernie and Ray stand over the brave fans, promising to try harder would be great stuff and well, I for one would donate to any memorial fund if needed.

Thanks for the input Wolves67. With the current sorry a$$ state of your own team (or teams...), please feel free to start your own new "LA diet."

Better yet, since you don't want to start copying DC fans (who are admittedly suffering... yet original...), feel free to start immolating yourselves :D

    There is no God :D

  23. In support of William's hungry strike I propose that every DC United fan go hungry on game day and only take in liquids. At least we will show the team some-one hungry for a win. As for the liquid diet on game day - I am already doing as much each time we lose so it will not be much of a hardship for me.

Oh the horror! It's been a tough few years. Ever since 1999 the booze has numbed our collective minds. Remember the MLS CUPs? ((hiccup )) ((hiccup))
