Not happening, Barcelona says the price is too high. At least for this year.

Being able to keep the player who just outscored most of Europe this summer says alot, if we can. This is great news.

Do you get the feeling that his agent's getting feelers from big clubs and he's spinning them into "interest" for the benefit of the media?

Iif the right price came up for him i think selling him and purchasing a 6 yard poacher type maybe a decent move.

As for the spin that skip suggested then thats a possibillity imo in order to extract some sort of guarentee about 1st choice striker. Personally I dont think we should guarentee anyone 1st choice in a position, should go to whoever is either best sutied to the oposition or whoever is in form

No way! I would not sell Baros, not after the quality performance in Portugal. He has huge potential. Let's just see how things will develope under the new coach.

Have to agree with SirManchester. He has a ton of potential at 22 years old. He's got a better shot than Owen. Also no idea how well Cisse will settle in and eveyone is aware of Owen's injury issues

Is that what he's asking for, or is he just saying he doesn't want another situation like the end of last season when he couldn't buy a game?? He's remained pretty tight lipped on this whole matter, but I'd imagine most of his frustration is at GH not playing him after recovering from the broken leg. I doubt he thinks he's a guaranteed starter for every match when you're on a team with Owen and Cisse...

^^ I hope thats the case too, I guess only time will tell.

As for selling players I beleive just about everyone has there price, and Im a firm believe in no-one is bigger than the club.

Isn't this similar to things said about Diouf? Let's hope Baros keeps his form.

A couple of things for you guys, first, Barca's President, LaPorta, said that they had no interest in signing Baros. Secondly, Diouf hasn't been giving a squad number for the upcoming season. I saw both of these things on the Sky Sports Report.

Houllier not playing Baros made me sick. Selling Baros would also make me sick.

I posted this rumour a few days ago that was floating around in the Spanish press and now its reported in uk tabloids. Barca are prepared to offer Javier Saviola in some kind of swap deal with Baros.

Saviola excallent player but I would have thought unless 1 of our guys puts in a trasnfer request our striker stiuation was sorted.

So I dont take us off topic going to discuss this more in the transfer rumours thread :)

So do I but even with the name it seems SirM has atleast an open like for LFC.

On Baros, this is a lad with great potential. He had a great tournament in Portugal. But remember, he had Koller to lead the line and knock balls down for him. He had Nedved to play balls unto his feet and he had defenses concentrating on others in the CR attack. He worked hard against the Greeks but effective man marking kept him relatively harmless in that game -- particularly when he had to rely on Vlad for service not Nedved. ;) I'm not ready to crown him king just yet. In MO we have one world class striker --- a European Player of the Year for christ sake. Let the other two step up and we will be able to avoid injury dips and have a two pronged attack every week that scares the opposition.
