Milan Baros' hattrick performance on saturday against Crystal Palace, ended up being Liverpool's ticket to a victory over Palace(3-2). Of course two of those three goals came from the pk.

The real question; Is this the level Baros will play all season long? Or will his form be inconsistent?

Certainly for the staff and followers of Liverpool, we would hope he will bring his top form to every game, considering he doesn't get hurt, and doesn't have to do everything alone up top.

So what do think, can Liverpool move forward with Baros, or is it just too much pressure, as the leading force of the team?

Well, if you had asked Baros what he wanted out of life at Liverpool six months ago, I'm guessing that his answer would have closely resembled what he now has, so let's not get too concerned about pressure and other such things. Either he wants it or he doesn't.

Perfectly stated. Either he's a world class player or he's not. He's certainly got his chance.

All of Baros' goals came from him forcing himself on the opposing defense. That at least shows he wants it. Can he handle it? That's another question. This we know. He put away a high pressure PK match winner. That takes nerve.

At least I see it as an improvement for LFC where previously successful conversion of penalty kicks was rare and far between, that especially from the perspective of our strikers. We need lethal penalty taker to ensure the goals. Baros is showing very positive sign of that. :D

Agreed, he seems to be very confident on the ball, especially around the penalty area. So his confidence gives me confidence when I am watching the games and he has the ball. We haven't had a striker like that in awhile. It's almost as if I can tell a goal is coming.

Who am I to argue with a man that just scored 3 goals. BUT! I think we could have had more and not just PK's (Even though they count) Yes, he's certaintly the flavour of the week.
Doncha think though if he'd have got his head up now and then, after he'd received a pass and saw that sometimes a return pass might be a better option than dribbling 10 men in the penalty box and then is left sitting on his arse with his hands up in a mute appeal.

Maybe I'm expecting too much too soon. Good on you Milan...!!!

Milan Baros got the job done for the Czech Republic against Europe's best in Euro 2004, so he's definitely got the ability to lead our strike force against the best defenders... all he needed was the chance, which he's now got due to Cisse's injury.

I agree that he could lift his head up a bit more and be a player more like Henry. Because like him or not, he always looks up when he receives the ball and is always looking either toward goal or for an open teammate. But I believe that will come to Milan with more experience. Just hope he keeps scoring goals.

Milan definetly can improve his game, but his main job is to score goals which he has been doing regularly lately. I don't think he is a selfish player, I just think he plays with his head down. He would pass it to open teammates if he saw them, but he is usually looking down at the ball. He could work on that in training. He needs to learn how to get his head up as he terrorizes defenders.

    From the manager:

"It is hard to talk about where someone needs to improve after they have scored goals but we will try to show Milan where he can develop his play. We have talked about him playing with his head up more, seeing more of what is happening around him. But it is like wanting to teach your children things. It takes time.

We will show Milan the video of this match and point out the areas where he may have chosen a different option, where he can do the things we have talked about."

The one goal that Baros scored off a short cross was made easy by the deftness of the cross. Baros had to put himself in position to receive the pass, but Prince Phillip could have put the ball behind Kiraly. The first PK was a close call by my account. I think the referee had to make that decision, but it might have gone the other way. The second ( non-call ) where Baros got a scolding and maybe almost a caution I thought was a penalty from one replay but not the other.

Baros has taken up the slack left by Cisse's injury, and he looks like a very determined lad. I think questions will be asked in the next three matches, the Boro and Arsenal EPL matches, and the Monaco match in CL play. With Gerrard fit, Liverpool will have a midfield with lots of possibilities, and Nunez is expected back, as well. I think Liverpool has a realistic chance of upsetting the Gunners.
