Since Sam is usually cautious with injuries, we probably won't see Viduka play. With Enrique out, our LB spot will probably be filled with Zog again.

    I would like to see:

    Smith - Owen - Martins
    Milner - Butt - Geremi
    Zog - Roz - Cacapa - Beye
    Harper

I have read in a couple of places that Harper will start again vs. Derby on Monday and that Given will again be on the bench. I have also read that Given is not very happy about this and could have "show down" talks with Big Sam if he does not start on Monday. I really am not sure I want to have Given ticked off. I could just see some team playing in Europe try to swoop in for him in January since he won't be cup tied.

This is something Given is not used to. Harper has always been a quality keeper, but he just needed some more playing time. Now he is getting his chance.

Martins will put on a show like he did against Bolton in August.

Everyone needs to fight for their spot. Every big club is like that ask Jens Lehman, Fernando Torres or Micheal Ballack. Sorry but how many trophies did Mr.Taylor and Mr.Given spearhead the club too?

Couldn't agree more, the club is in a good spot right now and doesn't need to be bogged down appeasing players upset about contract situations in September.

Derby gets a corner in the first minute of the game, which is headed over. Smudge wins a free kick just outside the 18 in the third minute, and N'Zogbia hits it straight at the keeper. Frenetic start.

Geremi has already wasted two set pieces(one a corner) by being unable to get it past the first man.

Milner and Owen go in two on two, Owen rounds the keeper and squares it for Rozehnal (?!) who shaves the outside of the post with the goal at his mercy.

Real end to end stuff so far.

Decently taken by Geremi, forces Bywater to give us a corner but nothing comes of it. Roze basically gets thrown over in the box and nothing called.

********ing Kenny Miller. And seconds after we had a legitimate penalty appeal waved away. Ah, well, guess we get to see what happens when we're behind now. First time this year.

1-0 to Derby, long ranged from Kenny Miller, nice goal. Unfortunate.

The only time Ameobi surprises me is when he scores.
