So I'm geetting this feeling that we won't take anyone in the supplemental draft, especially if we get Digi. The only person we might take is Harksey, but I just don't see us taking him. Couldn't you just see Harkes doing TV commentary (and get a better salary than MLS will give him) on Comcast and if we get injuries in the season, he gets discovered?

As for the other supplemental picks- Joy, Salyer, etc, we'll pass.

What's up with bringing two more overseas players? We have three pretty good ones, unless Hristo is running out to his mailbox every day expecting his green card to be there, I don't know if we'd be upgrading.

The other option is to move Nelsen.

    Steven,

A quick question. Have you seen any of the data on the Washingtonpost.com login questions (age, location)? Would be interested to see how we line up against the big 3 in terms of numbers and age.

    Thanks

    From the Goff article:
Since they will be under 25 years old this season, they would be classified as Transitional Internationals, not Senior Internationals, and thus not included in the limit of 3 Senior Internationals.

Well, if I decide to read their ages, it makes more sense. Especially since Hristo will/should be retired when this becomes an issue again.

I wish Digi the best of luck! Last I hear he had retired from soccer after busting up his leg.

    SG--great job (as usual).

Note, we need to give some credit where credit is due. PNG Sormun did say about 10 days ago that DCU would be inviting a defender from the Republic of Georgia. Lo and behold--Devidze!

It is not clear to me that Harkes is in the supplemental draft. I think the supplemental draft is for players under contract to MLS. I believe his (Harkes') contract has expired. I suspect he can try out with anyone and than go through a waiver draft (ala Curtis last year). Just a guess on my part. Connelly did not list him (Harkes) as "one of the names you might recognize" on the list of supplemental draft players.

As for the invites, I think Hudson is looking for a competitive camp and also wants to identify potential talent (even if it isn't needed now). Also, there is a "you scratch my back, I'll scratch your's" situation. An agent calls and says "would you look at my player?" Or, "would you give him a trial or some exposure." Ray says "let me know where to send the ticket--but remember who your Daddy is the next time you see a really cheap and talented striker on a free transfer!"

I tried doing a search for info on Toselli and Davidze. Nothing on Toselli, only roster lists for Davidze. Don't know if either is a D-mid (Davidze was listed as a midfielder in at least one junior national team match I believe).
